The fraudster who messed with the wrong guy. Woody Woodpecker is perhaps the most violent cartoon character after the main characters from Tom and Jerry. His famous laugh, which some consider almost the hallmark of all American animation, usually accompanies scenes with such violence that even Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th did not dream of. But there are exceptions to any rule, and the Wet Universal Lottery is the case when Woody is sympathetic. That's because he puts all his wrecking powers into fighting a very bad guy.
This guy is Buzz Buzz Buzzard’s atropomorphic vulture, and his characterization fits perfectly with the typical villain in American animated films. Have you ever noticed that Mickey Mouse, Chilly Willie, Bugs Bunny or the same Jerry mouse are generally lower than their opponents? Buzzard is a few goals higher than Woody. Maybe, according to the directors, bullying the little ones over the big ones looks especially fun? Buzzard, however, runs into trouble himself, divorcing his own clients for money. Sooner or later, he had to face some tough nut, and that nut turns out to be Woody. Seeing that he is threatened, the woodpecker begins... and what do cartoons usually do in such cases? They take sledgehammers or dynamite, which are cleverly used against enemies, of course. This is the second half of the movie.
I must say that Buzzard has become quite a frequent "companion" Woody's in other cartoons, so he doesn't miss himself. Sometimes Woody barely has time to save his skin... literally. Playing with deception, the artists once again show us impossible in reality stretching the body or running inside walls. If you think about it, this is a vivid indicator of how hard it was to surprise American viewers in the 1940s. There is, however, such a favorite clown technique as a punch on the door. Sometimes from such bruises does not save even a strong beak Woody. Contrary to custom, the finale causes the audience to be completely delighted, because scammers should get what they deserve.
It's a pretty good cartoon about Woody, who condemns the bad.
