Yes, the film could be called this: 'Confrontation at the resort' or 'Pashkova vs. Gudkov': But the title, aside from the song, accurately conveys the meaning of the action: it is, oddly enough, about love. Oh 'my sailor'
So everything in the film is not what they seem, and the confrontation on the basis of a stupid prize gradually completely exposes them. Lyudmila Pashkova is only at first glance a lazy mass murderer. No, this is a big actress who has not come to terms with reality and still dreams. And he avenges his unfulfilled dreams, but not himself, but those around him: his son, forbidding the same dreams to him, and the scoundrel Gudkov, who, unlike other crowds ' contestants', indeed, revealed talent. How dare he when even the talented Pashkova buried his talent?
Gudkov is not who he pretends to be either. Declaring himself a modest port mechanic, he with the inflexibility of the tractor crushes Pashkova, who is obliged ' to hand him the prize'. 'Tames the obstinate'. Because Gudkov is a director of musicals and ' My Sailor' is not a handicraft, but the main theme of his new creation. Unappreciated ' by some provincial aunt'.
The son of Pashkova Kolya is not an engineer, but an assistant - not a rural accordionist, but a laureate of the regional competition. And Gudkov's fight with Pashkova and with them tears off the masks. Kolya is a double agent: he helps the enemy & #39; Pashkova, but hides from Gudkov that 'megera' his mother. And even talking about the meanness of betrayal Masha gives Gudkov in a situation that does not require this, just a traitor. . .
But most of all, the confrontation allows you to reveal the main characters. Gudkova to become ' politician-lobbyist', managing the crowd (that is, the director), and Pashkova to hiss ' Mussolini' who to the public (in the microphone) says quite different (that is, the actress). They solved each other. ) Confrontation allows them to distinguish, appreciate and respect each other. Moving into sympathy. And to understand who and about whom the song is sung 'My Sailor'.
There is no point in discussing acting - it is flawless. Absolutely. It’s fun to watch a woman at the box office flirt with Gudkov and understand that she does not play! It's his wife. In fact, there are very few actors and there are their heroes. Therefore, the main characters and actors are called the same.
What can I say? Watch the movie! He's beautiful!
The role of the People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mikhailovich Derzhavin is known to everyone – simple, kind, intelligent, accomplished and fairly time-worn men who fall in love with women of about the same age. In the film with a soft touching title “My Sailor” (which brings me some associations and memories), Lyudmila Markovna Gurchenko plays such a woman. Interesting duet. And the movie too.
What lessons can be drawn from this picture...
The first conclusion can be formulated very simply and a little cynical - kind and modest to be profitable. And if you treat people kindly, do not put your life achievements on public display and do not use them for selfish purposes, then there is a chance to find peace and happiness not only after earthly life, but also on Earth. Even in old age...
The second conclusion is expressed approximately as follows. Appearance is sometimes extremely deceptive, and it often does not coincide with the inner world of a person, his social status or anything else. And in life at first it is difficult to see behind an ordinary and at first glance inconspicuous shell something powerful, especially if a person has innate (or at least acquired) modesty. And when everything falls into place, and we suddenly learn that the subject, whom everyone disliked or considered a mutt, is actually some authoritative and honest boss, a famous scientist, a talented artist or just a good person, then our surprise is unlimited.
P.S. The film “My Sailor” was shot in a difficult time (1990 – this is no joke). But almost every frame of the film is saturated with the seventies, and therefore this picture looks no worse than those Soviet productions, which we do not tire of praising for elegant simplicity and bright energy.
The film “My Sailor” was first watched back in 2000, showed it late at night, I had to go to school in the morning, and I still watched until the end. The plot is not easier, I only later learned that Anatoly Eyramdzhan shoots such simple and understandable films, the plot of which can be reduced to the elementary, for example, turned off the water in the pool, the patients announced an ultimatum (the film is so called). Or as here - a graduate of the theater institute dreamed of becoming a famous artist, and is forced to work as a mass-producer in the resort city of the south of the USSR. And so she, along with her friend-concertmaster, arranges every evening some competitions for vacationers, one of which is “Where are you talents?”, where everyone can prove themselves and get a prize. And one of the vacationers who is clearly more talented than others, this prize is not given. Noxious. He didn't like those aunts. But he goes and goes to these contests every night, sings and sings his song, which is called "My Sailor." That's what the whole story is about. Unfortunately, it is so often accepted in our country that a personal attitude becomes across public or state functions. This was especially true in the years when a country called the Soviet Union was going to hell and everyone felt something was coming. So Lyudmila Pashkova, played by the incomparable Lyudmila Markovna Gurchenko, played on poor uncle Misha Gudkov, who obviously deserved the main prize (and the prize there – what is the prize? Is it a spoon? Well, countermarks on the same events, as if revenged him for his unrealized aspirations. After all, she dreamed every night that she was a big artist and sings on stage, and her Tatiana Petrovna accompanied her. Wake up, thank you! There's nothing! She's a mass-producer, and more than that, she doesn't shine. In the daytime with children to play games, repeat endlessly "Tili-bom-tili-bom, the cat house caught fire ...", and in the evening to conduct this local talent show. Well, he is a ship mechanic, a kind, intelligent uncle, but not accustomed to retreat, took his legitimate prize withered. For him, it’s not about the prize, but in principle, well, it’s obvious to the audience, and other contestants, and even Lyudmila’s son, that he deserves the main prize.
The finale, like many Soviet films, is open. It seems that Mikhail Gudkov, who left, is returning, but he will no longer sing. It all ends with the fact that it is unclear whether in dreams or in reality Lyudmila and Mikhail sing "Se thu" somewhere on the big stage, probably in Moscow on Central Television. Whether you are married or not.
The film seems to be about nothing, but it is about a lot. About harm, about perseverance, about talent and talentlessness, about the personal and social. This is like a benefit to Lyudmila Gurchenko and Mikhail Derzhavin. Of course, it is kinder and brighter than many films not only of that era, but also modern. Bright memory of Lyudmila Markovna Gurchenko.
There is a special category of films in the world, the plot in which there is practically no, but the play of the actors, their charisma create such a unique mood that they want to watch again and again! The movie "My Sailor" is one of them. It is impossible to watch it without smiling, and after watching it, a pleasant sediment remains on the soul. The reason for this is the charisma of a well-chosen cast!
Mikhail Derzhavin plays an intelligent worker from Murmansk, who, like many Soviet men, knows how to sing and accompany himself on the accordion (in the USSR, harmonica, Bayan and accordion were considered “people’s” instruments, and the game was taught almost free of charge in many circles and cultural houses). Accidentally finding himself in the park at a typical Soviet event “Where are you talents?”, he was almost dragged onto the stage by a mass-producer (the so-called “animators” in the USSR). This was the beginning of a full-scale war between two strong personalities!
It’s easy to laugh at what’s going on in the audience. But as the hero of the show, you immediately cease to control the situation. Do you want to be a star? They'll make you laugh and make you look like a clown. So the hero did not expect that instead of a stormy applause for his talent, he will receive only a stupid badge, and the victory will be awarded to a little girl who does not even know how to sing! Perhaps the hero lacked a sense of humor or he took himself too seriously, but instead of picking up the badge and going to the beach, he began to find out why the leading Lyudmila did not like his singing. The need for recognition becomes simply manic, he begins to attend all the events that Lyudmila holds, again and again taking part in the talent competition. But, as if to evil, Lyudmila again and again awards victory to someone else.
At first (and at second) it may seem strange - what could not like Lyudmila in this fun and easy song? Sings Derzhavin from the heart, he is one of those actors that already create a festive mood with his own appearance. The audience sings along, applauds, he quickly becomes an idol. And only a severe masseuse repeatedly deprives Gudkov of a well-deserved prize. But is it deserved?
The more we get to know Lyudmila, the more it becomes obvious that the career of the masseuse is not the limit for her. She is a professional actress, but like thousands of other Soviet actors, she could not find herself either in the cinema or in the theater. Perhaps professional unrealization, coupled with family (Lyudmila raises her son alone) are the cause of the heroine’s long-standing depression, and Gudkov accidentally stepped on her “sick callus” with his song. How jealously sometimes professional musicians look at pop performers who, without much work and serious education, literally blow up the hall, while there are not many people who want to listen to their complex music! Perhaps Lyudmila herself could not find the key to the heart of the public, and how quickly Gudkov found it caused an explosion of jealousy in her soul? It is as if she takes revenge in his face on the good fortune that she missed and, time after time, finds an excuse to give the prize (albeit completely symbolic) to someone else.
I disagree with those commentators who believe that this story is more reminiscent of the 70s and, so to speak, “not due to time”. No, that’s what the Soviet era was like until the very end, even in the early post-Soviet years. In 1990, there was not only a “black man” around (this impression can indeed be formed from the Cinema of Perestroika), but, just like our time, this year was very different. Somewhere already came the “dashing nineties”, and somewhere else reigned almost “stagnant” peace. Where else would he be if he wasn't at the resort?
The fact that the action takes place in the 90th year there is no doubt – popular songs of the summer sound: “Pink roses Svetke Sokolova” and “Putana”, the young man performs a parody of Brezhnev (a political parody was not then only lazy – not only deceased 8 years ago Brezhnev, but also the current President Gorbachev constantly parodied Zadornov, Evdokimov and Khazanov), on the T-shirt Gudkov logo “Barcelona 92” – a souvenir of the upcoming Olympic Games. And finally, the fashionable words democracy, glasnost and rallies – Lyudmila complains that in the “old days” the audience did not dare to argue with the presenter and arrange a vote like at the congress. This is also a sign of time.
I myself vacationed in the Soviet boarding house in the 90th year (though not in the Crimea), and there were also constantly held similar events (for example, “Miss boarding house”). Moreover, a few years ago, on vacation in Tunisia, I often participated in similar competitions that animators held in the hotel in the evenings on stage. So the boss Lyudmila, who regretfully says that the profession of the mass-producer is dying out, is wrong, she is alive to this day! But maybe singing to the accordion replaced karaoke? (I recognized myself with a smile in the girl who sang "Pink Roses" in a very false way.)
The character of Tatiana Ptashuk is also interesting - she perfectly complements the image of Lyudmila. By itself, she is almost wordless - not so much a musician as a taper, if you can call an accordionist, but successfully inserted short ironic phrases (" Really?!), a smile and readiness to perform any work on the fly - involuntarily attract attention to her.
It was a pleasant surprise to see in the film Anastasia Nemolyaeva, so beloved by the Soviet audience after the film “Courier”. An episodic role - a lispous hire worker was played by the wife of Mikhail Derzhavin - Roxana Babayan.
The film leaves a beautiful southern tan on the skin, in the apartment - the aroma of the sea, in the ears - the noise of the surf, and the song about the "sailor" you will sing for many more days!

In the film with a soft touching title “My Sailor” (which personally brings me some associations and memories), the role of such a woman is the unfading soul and body of Lyudmila Markovna Gurchenko. Interesting duet. And the movie is interesting.
The finale of the film suggests that appearance is sometimes extremely deceptive, and it often does not coincide with the inner world of a person or with his social status. The hero of Mikhail Derzhavin acted like a real man. That's why he never won the prize. But I found something more... What conclusion can be drawn from this picture?
