Positive Suresh Oberoi I don’t know if anyone else is interested in such old Indian films, but since there is almost no information on the site, I will write a little if anyone wants to see it. The film is 2 hours and 13 minutes long (at least I had this version), it is dubbed, the picture quality is good. Style is a family drama: we are shown the vicissitudes of one middle-class Indian family. The head of the Shankar family (played by Ashok Kumar, who I really like in such roles, who have already lived responsible men), the father of two daughters and one son, acts noblely, breaking the law, and goes to prison. Now his children are forced to cope with life’s difficulties on their own. Children are already adults, so squeezing tears from the viewer with the sorrows of unfortunate orphans will not. The problems that confront them are the problems of the adult world - the search for work and the burden of responsibility, seduction and shame, marriage and household chores, the preservation of the family hearth and the sanctity of blood ties. There will be something to worry about, and what to condemn, and what to argue with, and what to agree with.
The main reason why I watched this film was Suresh Oberoy in a positive role. I love this actor very much, but he is almost always either a scoundrel or in some minor secondary role. Once I was looking for a movie for him, but it turned out that his character died in the fifth minute of the film, so I could see the beloved actor in the frame for only 30 seconds. Well, come on, specifically in this film, his hero and all of himself is good-right and occupies a big place in the plot. There are many stories and characters, because the story will be about three children of the same father, each has its own history of formation, its enemies-friends, its love and sorrows. So it is impossible to tell about all, I will only mention Iftekhara - a family friend who tries to help the children of his friend, who was so unfairly treated by fate, and Yogita Bali - the eldest daughter in the family who feels responsible for the happiness of all other family members. Iftekhar, like Ashok Kumar, as they say ' the hand is stuffed' in similar roles, and therefore play naturally, believably, with all the best, but Bali Yoga does not pull, she does not have the energy and charisma for such roles. It’s not the first time I’ve seen her and in every movie she’s sluggish and uninteresting. But this is my opinion, I do not like such women, like our Elena Nightingale or Natalia Belokhvostikova: someone sees them as a manifestation of femininity, and I - the absence of a rod or a spark. Everyone has their own taste, just pay attention that the main character, on whose shoulders the whole house is held, belongs to a certain type, which personally does not cause sympathy or sympathy for me, so the film did not have the impact that could be. Despite the right actions of the heroine, I still leaned more towards the position of my brother’s wife (who was played by Nilam Mera), although she harassed the daughter-in-law, but was at least understandable and lively: it was clear how she felt, what she was experiencing and what her goal was. And I understood her and I was on her side! Of course, we must take into account that in India we are used to living in large families, and therefore there is a different attitude to a bunch of relatives of the husband living in the house, and we are used to the fact that in each individual family the wife is the main mistress. So it was interesting and informative to look at and compare the positions of the heroines in terms of different mentalities.
The songs in the film are simple, one stands out, in which two son-in-law teach a third how to win girls. In a humorous form, we were shown typical girls of different states, their preferences, differences in clothes, behavior and preferences. I thought it was funny. Comic inserts were so bad, the fight is one and at the very end. In general, I liked the film, only the story with the eyes and the character of the heroine caused internal protest. If you like Yogita Bali, then I recommend watching the film: many different experiences and vicissitudes of fate that will fall on the lot of the heroes of history and with which they will cope, will raise the spirit and mood of empathetic viewers.
