Strong Bert. The plot for such a film is not trivial: a former soldier seizes the hotel, where the speech of the candidate for governor, and takes his wife and daughter hostage, having previously mined the building. The demands of the terrorist are not clear, and the hostages can die at any time. Detective Logan makes a desperate decision to save the women, bypassing the traps of a ruthless terrorist.
Especially much about this film is not worth talking, because the face of low-budget TV cinema, although in its own good. In short, “The Capture” is an action-packed action movie, originally from the 90s with typical features of the genre on the face: a cool hero, the people he needs to save, a cruel villain, and what no tension of the events taking place. Reminds me of Strong Oreshek, a closed building, hostages, terrorists... Whether it is a copy or a reference - it does not matter, the film looks good in this regard.
Although if we consider some details, then there is nothing significant and capable of hooking here. The action does not unfold quickly, the hero of Reynolds is not as cool a guy as before (age takes its own), the terrorist has no obvious goals, and some characters seem not to understand where they are (unless Daniel Harris, known for horror films and some action films, coped well with the role of the victim).
Although there is tension in some places, some scenes are not bad in their quality (the final run of the terrorist and Bert through the basements of the hotel), the idea of traps is somewhat well sustained. Do not wait for shootings and other action scenes - this is not the essence of the film, but in psychological stress, such a fear for the heroes (although you can only worry here for poor hostages). And that's all, there's nothing else good here.
In general and so on, Capture is a typical action movie for TV, which may be interesting in its own way, but for the general public it will seem like a real passer. In fact, that’s what I mean.
