Santa for export "Why should I spend Christmas with my parents?"
A group of students are going to celebrate Christmas in isolation from everyone and everything, for which they go to the hotel, where they are, as expected, met by Santa Claus. But instead of gifts, he has a sharp star on the chain, ripping off the unlucky party-goers limbs, and the festive bag is used exclusively for storing these same students in a partially sawn form.
One of the novels of the 6-episode television almanac based on the works of guru horror manga Kazuo Umezu, “The Gift” is quite watchable, but standard and “soft” gore movie, offering nothing new to the sophisticated viewer either in terms of the plot plan or in terms of implementation. In the second half, the film is gaining momentum and flooding the screen with blood, but all this is lost against the background of the miscast of Santa himself (the only non-Asian actor in the film, by the way, nowhere else and not starred) and not very successful and surprising final twist. Nevertheless, in the TV format and in a number of other films of the anthology Kazuo Umezu Horror Theater, this project deserves the attention of at least fans of the genre.
