The World of Cannibals
And we continue (with horror) to dive into the work of Bruno Mattea, the most toxic plagiarist in the world. When the 21st century came, Mattei found a second wind (read - ran out of money for corrupt women), began to rivet his sick fakes with double the speed. Specifically, in 2004, the old man released three films at once (Woody Allen bit his lip with envy).
As you may have guessed, one of these films is Cannibal World. The funny thing is that in the credits (already according to tradition) Mattei hid behind the pseudonym Vincent Long ago (or Down, a-hee-hee, choose), allegedly the director is different here. But, he still burned, because the names of the screenwriters – Giovanni Paolucci and Bruno Mattei followed. Circus.
By the way, Giovanni Paolucci is an ancient drinking companion of Mattei. He worked (well, the way he worked was more of a fool) with him on Terminator 2 (which is Shocking Darkness). In short, our friends-degraders decided to check out the classic 1979 film “Cannibal Hell” by Ruggero Deodato. Word for word, the worse we are, now we take and plagiarize it.
Shot so much game (i.e. material), had to be divided into two paintings (the second is called “Land of Cannibals”). It's probably more profitable. No comment! So in Cannibals World we are introduced to some crazy lady Grace Forsyth. A citizen tries to save the channel where the presenter works. Get your popularity back, again. So, uh, the little girl assembles a team of absolutely deranged clowns and goes to the jungle in search of cannibals.
Genius, damn it! It feels like Mattei really messed up decades. I'll explain. The cannibal boom in Italy began in the second half of the 70s. And in the second half of the 80s, approximately, he was bent. I remind you, Mattei was quietly making movies at the time. But, for some reason, he did not climb to the cannibals (although his colleagues in the workshop, necessarily looked at this topic – from Umberto Lenzi to Joe D’Amato).
You know? Release a pathetic amateur parody after more than 20 years, when cannibal Italian cinema was covered in dust. What's in his head, guys, I'm moving my hands. I need to talk to you about the disgusting acting, the weird scenes every minute (the crocodile was ruined, the bastards), the absence of any hint of adequacy? I don't think. Mattei managed only one thing - to distort the painting by Deodato.
Directors should make films, not pour brown substance, especially on classics. Whether you like Cannibal’s Hell or not, it’s a classic. Mattei is to blame, Mattei is to blame.
