Ivan The film "Ivan" does not caress the attention of moviegoers, so I will be the first to write a review about this picture.
“Ivan” produced by the film studio Belarusfilm tells us the story of an aged veteran of the great Patriotic War (A. Papanov), who after the war settled in his native village. No one calls Ivan by patronymic, because he poses himself as an ordinary simple grandfather who helps everyone everywhere and does not refuse anything, as a result of which he always receives a “catch-up” from his grumpy wife “Maria”.
And here comes a mysterious summons from the military enlistment office, and the wife, thinking that this is “probably a military pension added”, gathers her husband Ivan in the city. Gives him the only decent trousers with a decree, so as not to get dirty. or "there will be nothing in the coffin."
In the city, Ivan Ivanovich behaves really like a rustic simpleton, that is, shy and uncomfortable, because he was even allowed without a queue to buy bananas (and the queue was huge), which he refused, because “inconvenient somehow.”
And now, the solemn part, the award, after many years, found its hero! Ivan Ivanovich is awarded the Order of the Red Banner, he speaks at meetings, tells about the war (especially the tragic story about porridge), he is photographed, an article is written about him in the local newspaper, after which he returns a few days back to the village, to the grumpy wife.
Awareness and aftertaste of the film comes only after watching. And everything, unfortunately, is very tragic and sad. No one believes the elderly grandfather that he was awarded a great award after all these years, neither his wife nor his village, up to the precinct. Everything comes to ridicule and jokes, and Ivan Ivanovich is trying to prove something to everyone ... to look at it is extremely painful.
Even though the film is only 1 hour and 09 minutes long, that’s enough. The film is curious in small things. One detail was enough for me - the moment of finding Ivan's wife Marya, a box with a certificate for a new medal.
The film about Ivan Ivanovich Klimovich, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War is difficult to watch, this is not the first film “Belarusfilm” about the war that I watch, and every time these films remind me not only of what price we got the Victory, but also what happened after it.
I don’t know why this movie with the great Anatoly Papanov went so unnoticed. Perhaps, because the film was made on the eve of perestroika, when no one ever remembered the Victory. And I would like to finish with lines from the favorite song of the veteran Klimovich, which he loved very much, and new songs, according to him, he does not know.
Blue modest handkerchief
He fell off his shoulders.
You said that.
That you won't forget.
Lovely, joyful meetings.
