A serious film about the fatal mistakes of youth, about the atonement of past sins I recently watched the movie “The Screenplay” in 2008. A serious film about the fatal mistakes of youth, about the atonement of past sins, about mutual understanding, about love understood by everyone in different ways, about humiliation and the struggle for recognition, about the power of talent and humanity. The young playwright writes a script about the dramatic fate of the actress - the stars of the past. Asking about her former environment, he gradually unravels the tangled tangle of her complex life, thereby unwittingly disturbing the ghosts of the past and even bringing them back to life. Not everyone is happy with this script, the writer will have to muster the courage to bring it to the end. For a young filmmaker, this work will suddenly become a test of humanity.
The film is so slow, epic, good. Like all psychological dramas about a difficult fate. Also well (with rare exceptions) play all the actors: modern, unpattern, restrained. Here is a claim to the performer of one of the central roles A. Menon - knocked out of the overall well-coordinated ensemble with his clumsy game. In my opinion, it plays out of hand badly. There are no questions about the script or the direction.
In the plot there is such an unexpected mystery that puts on its head the audience’s sympathies and attitude to the characters, changes their assessment. Everything is complicated and ambiguous, as in real life.
