Unquiet "Silence" In my opinion, a completely underrated film. Silence has its potential, something that captivates and makes you watch it to the very end. It is even strange that the picture was undeservedly forgotten, although time, and theme, and her enthusiasm – everything is suitable for her. Somehow Alexander Karpov’s film reminded me of “Spring on Zarechnaya Street” – the same production theme, the clash of the usual way of life and progress, the school of evening youth, love, finally – although everyone has their own.
Engineer Hakim Ospanov used to work on his old locomotive. Despite his advanced age, he is still full of strength and energy, able to show himself in business. When news comes of replacing his locomotive with a more modern machine, Hakim feels overwhelmed and useless. He does not want to retrain - it is too late, and the authorities offered the post of head of a remote station called Silence. Ospanov went to Almaty in management. But when the conductor said, "Soon the Silence" - could not resist - pulled to see what kind of station it was such, past which he drove his engine for thirty years. I went out for a minute and stayed. It seems that his fate was decided.
But “Silence” was not so quiet, it also boils their passions, also working people, with their dreams, ideas, goals and hopes. Young people dream of opening an evening school, the duty officer at the Nartai station dreams of exploits, does not notice the girl who is loyal to him and in love. Together with Ospanov, a woman with a 5-year-old son Makar comes to the Silence - it seems that Olga escaped from Moscow for some reason. The son is very ill and for the next 2 weeks this small railway station becomes her home. Olga gradually gets used to this life, her people and does not leave and remains at the station. There is also a talented middle-aged professor who also lives on Silence for his own reasons, leaving the bustling capital. Many interesting heroes with their fates at this station are drawn into the cycle of events, and then the flow of goods for the nearby plant under construction fell on the Silence. You won't get bored here.
Very colorful and memorable heroes turned out. Take at least Kanabek Bayseitov in the role of Hakim Ospanov - his hero literally blew energy and enthusiasm. It is worth watching the movie for him. Although it was fascinating to watch the development of relations between Olga and Safonov, the role of which, by the way, was performed by the director Alexander Karpov himself. Zador picture gave and duet dispatcher Nartai and evening school student Guli Shalimova served somewhat in a comedic way. And, of course, who does not recognize Pavel Springfeld - the king of episodes in the same small but memorable role of the headmaster of the school. He is the wardrobe in Gentlemen of Fortune, the rural drunkard Stepan in The Master of the Taiga, the French officer Letier in The Hussar Ballad. If you like Soviet films, you will not regret it.
