Nice Czech series I am currently trying to learn Czech on my own, though not very actively. I watch a lot of videos, but I don’t understand everything. And then, quite by chance, I came across a Czech teenage TV series 4teens, which was translated into Russian, but fortunately I watched it in the original - and I liked it. It's only seven episodes. It's both good and bad. Good – because long-running series usually still get bored and / or lose quality. Bad - because, frankly, after watching it was a pity to part with his characters, the most ordinary students of the Oryol gymnasium.
From the series you should not expect any subtle meanings and stunning revelations. On the screen - scenes from the lives of teenagers: school, home, family, friends, love, leisure, entertainment, hobbies, various life problems, moments of happiness - in general, nothing supernatural, but nice and kind, and most importantly - without any dirt. Despite this, in “4teens” the guys will live a rather busy life, solving in the course of the plot not only their problems with the people around them, but sometimes the problems of their parents. And all because despite some disagreements, they try to help each other - and their friendship truly works wonders. In general, this is why the theme of friendship can be called central in the series.
Although the series are related chronologically, it would be untrue to say that skipping any of them would be disastrous for understanding the whole uncomplicated storyline. Moreover, each of them is formally dedicated to one character. On the other hand, there are only seven episodes, and I just don’t see the point of watching them out of order.
In each episode, we will be shown a comic book from the school newspaper dedicated to some, often insignificant, event. However, for the plot, these comics are an important detail, since their author is initially unknown. Moreover, the painted images of the main characters are also found in the credits of the series - in general, this is its signature feature, and I must say, very successful.
Well, in a nutshell about music: Charlie Straight's "School Beauty Queen" wonderfully fit into this teenage cycle and for me is now inextricably connected with it, unlike the official clip.
To summarize, 4teens is a very decent, moderately interesting and, I would say, kind, noteworthy teenage series dedicated to friendship and mutual understanding, in which not only schoolchildren but also adults seek compromises, trying to find a common language with each other. I highly recommend it!
