In deep, deep down, this series is good, somewhere very deep. The BBC series "In Deep" is rather strange.
On the one hand, the authors create interesting situations where two friends working undercover are simultaneously faced with personal problems in family life. This is the first TV series/movie where undercover agents take on such a nasty topic as pedophilia. Among the sellers of drugs and weapons, it seems possible to take root, pretend to be “your own”. But in the midst of such nonsense as pedophiles, it is hard to imagine how one can cope with one’s own inner resentment. Again, the pluses include pleasant music, which adds entourage.
Let’s look at the series from the other side. There is such a TV series "procedural" from Jerry Bruckheimer "Dark Blue" (2009-2010), again in our translation "Undercover". So there was a 40-minute episode where the infiltration process was neutered and it looked pretty stupid. Here, we have the reverse side of the coin - this is the dissolution of the 40-minute series "procedural" on 2 (!) hour (!) episode. During this time, all the tension subsides and during the viewing you already begin to think about what to do and whether to inspect. "In Deep" is filmed very budget in the bad sense of the word - this is especially noticeable in tense moments of chases, shootouts, explosions.
The best series that currently exists on the topic of implementation is again in our translation "Undercover" - the series of 2015 in the original titled "Gangland Undercover". Here there is just the tension, there is a great style, a rather interesting plot and the series does not have time to slide to the bottom of despondency.
