First of all - for fans of the game "Word of" and "fans of military history". In wide Runet view this documentary series came recently. I'll give you an introductory. Search for insertion into general data and for synopsis: production of the notorious Discovery channel (or rather, its American-Canadian “segment”), 2010-2013 years of release; 23 series, an average of 45 minutes, telling about the great (according to the authors) tank battles of the twentieth century. Extremely interesting, especially because in the frame we see the heroes of the tankers (I note the delicate position of the authors of the series: they did not focus on the “politics” of those times, they were primarily interested in the war itself, and how it fought specific people-soldiers, whether American, Soviet, German, Israeli veterans). All of them - in the frame, moreover, often on their stories built whole stories! And we did not know how accidentally the American tank "Sherman" collided through the "green harrow", barrel to barrel, with a deadly "tiger", one shot of which - and "Sherman" inevitable death ... And, with great bitterness, we have to accept and understand that both the Shermans in France and our T-34-76s in the Kursk Bulge defeated the fascists only by numbers (!!!) and the ability to impose a close battle on the enemy!
But here is what is absolutely infuriating: about their fights in several series tell the natural SS (!!!), tankers (and officers!) from the divisions of the Reich, etc. ! These same bastards should have been hanged or shot long ago! It's the SS!!! And here, on the screen, they share memories, interspersed with Soviet and American veterans. Nightmare!!
One more annoying, quietly, sadly... Veterans of World War II "from the Allies" and "from the Germans!" will look out on the screen and talk about the war ... fresh, reasonable, sensible. Soviet veterans with their stories look stamped old sensuality. Probably because they are already used in Soviet times to “officially” perform in front of pioneers, young people, telling them “what to do”, and not what I really want to say (fortunately, in the series such moments are present!). I would like to emphasize that the United States, England, France, and Germany deeply respect and support their veterans, and they do not need anything. That’s why they look 60 years old, not 90 years old, like our survivors!
Last one. I don’t recommend watching The Great Tank Battles. Take a break! Otherwise, you will get tired of staring at the monotonous skirmishes of the Shermans (T-34-76) with the Panthers or Tigers. I remind you: the local computer graphics (without the "presence" of soldiers, people ...) loses the most popular game of today "Word of Tanks" in quality.
