Brave in heart. “The Courage to Be Wild” is a narrative, in a sense, philosophical film that emphasizes the idea of human unity with nature. Beauty is one of the main advantages of this film: there are magnificent views of Ireland and Ethiopia, green meadows, coastal slopes, flowering plants.
The main character Mary Reynolds is an amazing girl who grew up in harmony with wildlife and who wants to spread this primitive beauty around the world.
I cannot imagine life without clover, fern, weeping willow and grass.
In order to develop and implement her talent as a landscape designer, she is forced to work as an errand girl for an arrogant bitch florist, unscrupulously and brazenly stealing ideas from Mary and impersonating them as her own. But after visiting the world-famous exhibition in Chelsea, where Mary gets acquainted with the riot of colors of floral compositions, she sets out to participate in the competition and convey to the rest the importance of the beauty of wildlife.
The path to the dream will not be easy, but it will be filled with magic and mystery that nature preserves and that people have already forgotten how to see.
“Dare to be wild” is a low-budget calm film with almost unknown actors, which is designed for a narrow circle of viewers – viewers who prefer small cute naive films with the right message and morality. Style is replaced by Irish identity; realism is sometimes replaced by strangeness. Throughout the picture, important environmental issues such as irrigation of deserts, conservation of wildlife, transformation of depleted land into flowering gardens are raised. And, of course, love will save the world.
People travel all over the world in search of beautiful places. However, in modern gardens there is no such simplicity and characteristic atmosphere. We need to preserve and protect these places. Each of them is beautiful in its own way. They may soon disappear forever.
