A disaster film about survival in the Alps was released immediately on TV, bypassing theaters, that is, the creators themselves did not count on its success. But there was hope. For the mountains, the snow, the people forced to fight the elements. Fans of extreme films should have liked it. But I didn't. I'll tell you why.
Camille and Simon celebrate their wedding and go for a photo shoot not somewhere, but to the observation deck located on Mont Blanc in the picturesque Chamonix Valley. Ironically, it was on this day that a storm warning was issued. But no one, including security chief Mark Priyor, is deterred. The newlyweds and a small group of them still climb to the top. And here the unforeseen happens - because of the rockfall, the observation deck breaks into the abyss, the funiculars get up and people are hostages on the top of the mountain, without equipment and insurance, in the cold and terrible wind. And the only way for them to survive is to go down.
Mark Priyor is very active in saving people, but he does it mainly because his daughter Emma is among the guests. The company on the mountain generally picks up a motley - the groom and the bride, witnesses, photographer, journalist with a very difficult personal attitude to the groom, rescue station workers - it is immediately clear that there will be no great sense from all their actions.
This is how it turns out, the descent is tragic.
It's a little bit about the plot. Now a couple of personal impressions.
The film turned out to be very incomparable to the work of alpine ski resorts. Not only are safety standards constantly grossly violated, but everything is done there as if “fuck off.” The collapsed observation deck confirms this, as well as the stairs falling into the abyss. I think there are enough problems like this everywhere, but why show them so clearly? And talking about one of the most popular resorts in the world.
Well, all sorts of trifles, such as when a lady dressed in warm trousers and ski shoes does not completely part with a white, lush, very slippery vein skirt. Or another lady with a frost of 25 grouds not zipping a light jacket. It is clear that beauty is a priority.
Overall, the picture is not very exciting. Mostly because I didn’t believe in what was happening.
