Australian channel abc has established the release of quality series. Rake, Jack Irish, Janet King and finally Old School. The main roles are played by Sam Neal (Pianino, Tudors) and Brian Brown, the same one who played a sweaty sheep breeder whose erotic fluids struck Maggie out of "Singing in a Thorn." Although Neil complains about his old age, but looks good for his age, Brown, judging by his appearance, correctly disposed of the fees for previous films – broken teeth, sleeping eyes – a typical white rag in retirement. Both actors play simply chic, it feels old school, no play, no tantrums, everything looks absolutely natural - they just live their characters. Absolutely organic game, which is rare in the era of abandoning the "system".
The creators of the series are people with good taste, subtly and ironically ridicule police series, as well as stamps that are infested with modern action films. The film turned out to be elegant, organically combining elements of detective, thriller, comedy. In the series there is intrigue, elegant humor, a sufficient amount of good old violence, despite the age of the characters do not shy away from the traditional Russian fun called “write in five”. The main villain, whose search unites former antagonists, is elusive, omnipotent and infernal. Good cinema makes a good villain – this statement has already become an axiom, and Old School is a good movie.
Bottom line.
The saying “an old horse does not spoil the furrow, he lies in it and sleeps”, in this case does not correspond to reality, the film turned out wonderful.
P.S.
In the series, Steve Le Marquand and Kate Box, who played in the beautiful “Rake” Cola and Nicole, respectively, look and feel like in the company of old friends.
