Ctrl+C — Ctrl+V Preamble. My friend and I have a tradition – every year, on January 1, we don’t go to the bathhouse, we spend “Night of Horrors”. We take booze, snacks, sit down at the TV and from early evening to early morning we watch a movie, at least somehow related to the sphere of horror, from outright low-grade filth, to classic thrash, from antique thrillers to serious scary films, from which pants are soaked with gravy. Movies are selected by naming a random number and selecting a movie under that number from a pre-prepared list. And that night, random made us smile.
In fact, the "Truck", aka "Pest". In the cherished list, he got only because of the name and essence - a psycho on a truck nightmares in the full height of two girls, beautifully. In general, we did not expect much, and if you just sit down and watch this film, it will pass without much interest and deserve an honorable three points out of ten. Girls on a red mustang run across the desert from a madman in a rusty truck, who for no special reason decided to kill them, scream, panic unconvincingly, as a result, good triumphs, happy and happy.
But it just so happened that right in front of him we had to see the film “Duel” in 1971. Tov's first full-length film. Spielberg, by the way. An old, semi-philosophical, semi-boring road-movie with a mustachioed man on a red "plymouth", who runs all over the desert from a madman in a rusty truck, who decided to kill him for no special reason, panic ... stop-stop ... did not understand ...
Do you know how the Russian pop music is raped? Kirkorov as the flagship of remake building, and his cohort of mutants nearby? That's exactly what we saw. “The Tow Truck” (2015) repeats “Duel” (1971) episode by episode, frame by frame, except that instead of a gas tanker – a tow truck, instead of a mustachioed man – two girls, and the “red horse” was updated. What makes the chase even more fun - if on a cheap "plimute" it can be difficult to shake off the tail of the tractor, then on the "mustang", which repeatedly shows the nameplate "5.0", to leave the highway from a rusty tow truck with a family station wagon of the Paleolithic times on the trailer ... well, otherwise it would not be interesting.
In each episode, we see what happened in the previous film. Here (Spoiler)!! Although who cares in such a movie) the main character of "Dueli" overtook a terrible truck, here the truck overtook him and scared him, here the driver of the truck set the main character up for a meeting, here the main character at the gas station is trying to see the truck driver, but he is hidden by the car and he sees only shoes, here he is sitting in a cafe and trying to calculate the antagonist by shoes ... Tow truck? We exchange a man for two girls and get the same on a fresher film. Screenshot. Until the end.
In general, these films should be watched one after another, in a row. Otherwise, the tow truck will not be happy at all. And so at least watch and have fun - how exactly they copy the next episode. And they copy in good faith and detail.
P.S. Some footage from the film was used in an episode of The Incredible Hulk (1978). After Steven Spielberg learned about this, he insisted that there be a mandatory clause in the contracts for his next projects, prohibiting studios from using footage from his films without his consent. Against the background of the above, it was amusing. Well, really, why use frames when you can follow the example of Philip Bedrosovich.
7 out of 10 in conjunction with “Duel”, but only for a funny remake, in itself –
