Not to say that the film disappointed, but the film failed to use its full potential. The tape had potential. A good, albeit not original, idea, promised a dramatic atmosphere and tense action, and not to say that the film is devoid of all this, but to the necessary degree of heat “Response” does not reach. Yes, you empathize with the inhabitants of the mansion, and the intruders cause, as befits, rejection and dislike of their personalities, the actions of maniacs for the time being look spectacular and to some extent frightening, and the tension grows and you expect that by the end it will reach a peak, but here lies the main drawback of the tape. It is plausible to show the transformation of the head of the family from a submissive victim and spineless, weak-willed office plankton, into an unforgiving avenger, into an ardent, uncompromising defender of the family, and cold-blooded criminals into confused, bewildered victims, the crew did not succeed, which makes the final third of the film look somewhat unrealistic and too fake. And in general, the ending, although it has a logical ending, nevertheless, does not give answers to all the questions that arose during the action. The fault, as it seems, is not a modified script, mistakes in the director's production and acting.
However, after learning that the budget of the film was ridiculous, my attitude to the film and to the work of the crew pretty much improved. After all, by and large, the entire film crew worked on bare enthusiasm, for “thank you”, and at the same time they managed to intrigue both the persons of the killers, and the action, and make them empathize with the heroes. The film looks much more expensive than the stated $18,000. Yes, there are also not few shortcomings in the film, but, nevertheless, "Response Reaction" is not the worst thriller about the struggle of ordinary citizens with insane killers, and in the ratio "spent budget / quality of the film" and will give odds to many brothers in the genre.
