Classic genre #74: video rental In the review of "Witchcraft-14" I talked about the fact that the franchise is firmly captured by the office of Sterling Entertainment, which means that the degree of nonsense will go to a new level. And I was not mistaken – the 14th part was a repulsed video, shot on a digital camera with special effects Mark Polonius, the most oak acting game in the history of the franchise, and I do not even want to remember about Spenner. The 14th series ended in a banal and at the same time illogical way, there was even a hint of an open final. The 15th part is really a direct continuation of the last series (remember that 14, 15 and 16 parts were shot and released at the same time). It’s too late to turn back.
So, here we have a mystical horror (again sorry) David Palmieri "Witchcraft-15: Bloody Rose". The names in the credits are still the same - although what did we expect from these guys at all? They make all the films a permanent lineup of 2.5 people, from this and the films on the output of a certain quality. As I said in the review of the last part – it’s good that they at least do not hide that they make a garbage movie with amateur equipment, or I would be afraid for people who would shoot it on serious scales.
The film opens with an explanation of the ending of the last part - at first you think the movie intends to repeat the last 10 minutes of the previous series, but no - there are some very important scenes for the plot (sorry me). Thus, we understand that after the death of Samuel, Sharon will be in charge of all affairs in the yoga studio. Sharon has a plan, which 1 in 1 repeats the idea of Samuel from the previous part, only now this Sharon can control the main character Rose. Killing during sex (and how otherwise) unwanted citizens, Sharon moves closer and closer to the goal. Well, Lutz, Garner and Spenner are trying to prevent her, of course.
I won’t talk again about the total nonsense in the script and the fact that it was written clearly in a drunken frenzy – I said everything in the last review. I’m not going to mention the wild budget of this movie. I can’t put it down to the drawbacks, if the movie was originally intended to be. But the rest of the disadvantages can be said more.
All we see on the screen is a full copy of Part 14. Seriously, you can, of course, laugh, they say, the guys were lazy to invent, and they decided to cheat so much, but if in the 14th part it was all fun and funny to watch – then here is already boring. The film seems to be an impossible secondary, well, Samuel was replaced by Sharon, well, she continues his business, so everything is absolutely the same.
The budget-free scenario holes and special effects of Mark Polonia in Part 14 were the same, so there is no laughing matter. Spenner's mannerism is also starting to get more annoying, and the acting talents of Lutz and Garner were also fun only in the last series. Even in the previous parts of "Witchcraft" at least something changed - vampires, witches, or whatever. And watching the full copy of the previous film was not very good.
To sum up: the 15th part is not at all different from the 14th and watching it is more boring than fun. "Angel of Death" was hulking and cheerful, and "Bloody Rose" just hulking. I think it’s an extra part of the franchise. We will see the 16th, of course, but for some reason I have no special hopes for it.
