The riots on Mustafar The end of George Lucas’s classic Star Wars trilogy put an end to the long conflict between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire, ending the adventures of young Luke Skywalker and his comrades on an enthusiastic note. Numerous fans of the magnificent space story had mixed feelings about this, because on the one hand, Star Wars came to its logical conclusion, but on the other, George Lucas left too many mysterious plot details that waited for the hour when they were revealed. Many viewers wanted to know what exactly happened during the Clone Wars, mentioned by Obi-Wan Kenobi in A New Hope. No less interesting was the mysterious injuries of Darth Vader, because of which he could not live without his sinister black suit. In the end, only completely unacquainted with the “Star Wars” viewer did not dream of seeing with his own eyes how the Old Republic disappeared, and in its place rose the Palpatine Empire, bound the Galaxy in an iron fist. These, and many other Star Wars mysteries, were waiting as George Lucas perfected the technology to create high-quality special effects, breaking patterns and bringing the computer age of cinema closer. The return of “Star Wars” to the big screens in the form of the Prequel Trilogy occurred long 16 years after the premiere of “Return of the Jedi”.
Expected by millions, The Hidden Threat presented events taking place in a galaxy far, far away 32 years before the epic battle of Yavin. Under the leadership of George Lucas, we finally learned who Darth Vader was as a child and how he got into the Jedi Order. The director revealed many aspects of the Force, worked to the smallest detail the political world of his creation and for the first time showed a full-fledged duel between the Jedi and the Sith. The reaction to “The Hidden Threat” at the time was mixed, because Lucas dramatically changed the tone of the narrative, making the film a kaleidoscope of previously unseen planets, creatures and other elements, while betting on technological innovation. However, the film brilliantly proved itself at the box office and over time earned him a standing ovation, thanks to the competent expansion of the beloved Universe. The debut episode was logically followed by a sequel, Attack of the Clones, which shows how the Dark Side of the Force begin to implement a long-standing plan to enslave the Galaxy. And the crown of the entire prequel trilogy was the gloomy “Revenge of the Sith”, finally ending the story of “Star Wars”, showing everything that fans have been waiting for so long. Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader, Chancellor Palpatine ascended the throne as Emperor, and all Jedi except Kenobi and Yoda were reunited with the Force.
The surprise announcement that Lucasfilm is becoming part of Disney was one of the most talked-about events of 2012. George Lucas felt it was time to put his creation in the hands of the next generation of filmmakers, so that they could bring new ideas to it. Traditionally, fans of the director were divided about his decision, but now it has become clear that Disney will do everything to make the brand “Star Wars” brought its owners maximum profit. The instant announcement of the Seventh episode, the launch of its one thematic animated series, the elimination of the Expanded Universe of books and comics, a complete reworking of the history of the galaxy far, far away beyond full-length films and other news did not leave anyone indifferent. If someone had previously bypassed George Lucas’ legacy for some reason, it was impossible to do more. Disney conducted a titanic advertising campaign, multiplying the value of the Star Wars brand long before the release of The Force Awakens. The growing popularity of Star Wars could not go unnoticed in the camp of independent cinema. Fans of the Saga received additional motivation, zealously taking up the implementation of long-thought-out ideas related to the Sith and Jedi universe. Among them was Zoran Gvozic, on the wave of hysteria around the release of “Star Wars” launched a parody project BigHead, ridiculing trailers and excerpts from famous Hollywood films. The honor of becoming the first experience in a given direction fell “Revenge of the Sith”. Namely, one of the last scenes of the film, in which Obi-Wan Kenobi defeats Anakin Skywalker on the planet Mustafar. The interesting short film was titled “BigHead Star Wars: Anakin vs. Obi-wan” and received a more or less warm reception from fans who attentively perceive everything that concerns their favorite hobby.
As for the plot of BigHead Star Wars: Anakin vs. Obi-wan, it actually does not exist. The creative style of Zoran Gvožić does not involve special reasoning, focusing the audience’s attention on frank hochma. BigHead does not have special technological sophistication, but only puts on top of the heads of the original performers the enlarged heads of the creators of the parody themselves. In BigHead Star Wars: Anakin vs. Obi-wan, Zoran Gwojic portrayed Anakin Skywalker, while his friend Ted Evans reincarnated as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Timekeeping of the tape was about two minutes, stretching the well-known scene with the help of optional dialogues of comic content. Instead of immediately attacking each other, the former teacher and the student discuss unnecessary abstract topics, periodically condemning each other for making the wrong choice of life position. Well, after all the conversations are brought to logical absurdity, the expected culmination with the cutting off of Skywalker's limbs comes. Nothing more special happens in the frame and the closing credits begin.
It’s not that BigHead Star Wars: Anakin vs. Obi-wan boasts some exquisite humor. Rather, it is a playful craft created solely for its own entertainment. However, on the Internet, this short film gained considerable fame, thereby determining the further development of Zoran Gvožić's career. The new director, actor and screenwriter realized that there is a great opportunity without impressive costs and investments to achieve popularity, competently playing on the fame of the mocked source. The choice that fell on "Star Wars", was quite justified and Gvozic later repeatedly speculated on the ideas of George Lucas, bringing them to the absurd to the delight of himself and grateful audience. Some projects should not be developed to a large scale, otherwise they lose their uniqueness. This can be attributed to BigHead. Being a completely unnecessary clown, he is nevertheless able to distract for a minute or two from frowning thoughts and if you have a predisposition to uncomplicated humor, then also have fun.
“BigHead Star Wars: Anakin vs. Obi-wan” should only be taken into account by dedicated Star Wars fans who can laugh at the Saga and not accept the stupid irony of independent filmmakers without needless hatred. Director Zoran Gvožić should have spent much more time working out quality jokes, but the result that turned out is quite worthy of attention. Short timekeeping, famous heroes, epic music and simplicity of jokes create a relaxed atmosphere for their own. However, if you are not familiar with the world of “Star Wars”, “BigHead Star Wars: Anakin vs. Obi-wan” is best avoided due to the pointlessness of viewing.
