The series made me smile and remember that forbidden love is always sweeter than normal relationships. And yes, good girls always fall in love with bad girls. And then the bad guy turns into the guy of dreams.
To begin with, Demet Ozdemir (Asly) is delightful in comedy melodramas. Her character Asla is a beautiful innocent girl, but with a character and knows its value. Acting makes you watch without a break, in one breath. That's what happened to me.
Burak (Yusuf Chim) is a guy you can’t help falling in love with. Charismatic, handsome, sweet. He's never boring. That's how I see him. A comedy line I would put 10 out of 10. I laughed at every moment. Asla's appearance in his life is the best thing that has happened to him. I would watch their relationship for a very long time with great pleasure.
Of course, there are many questions left. Most importantly, why did the series end abruptly? As the story unfolded, it seemed that we would see many more interesting things. Like Banu. It was obvious that they were waiting for a love story with Volkan. At least that's how I saw it. I thought he'd fall in love with her and they'd go in pairs. Then Emel, Asla's mom. I didn’t know if the driver was working or not. And most importantly, it's Bashak. What happened to her? I was very disappointed with the final. It's like they made it fast and finished. But whether it was really quickly closed or initially such and the script was prescribed, we will not know.
But the series is, of course, very cool! Perfect for girls, I would say. I really liked the idea of the series. I watched a lot of different movies and TV series, but this idea of the plot surprised me and pleased me.
It’s hard to say what went wrong in a story that could have resulted in better work than it did. Pretty cute Turkish TV series, which should not leave negative impressions after itself: there will be where to laugh, and where to cry. But, unfortunately, the series so from 18-19 everything rolled down inexplicably where - the characters have become different, as if they dramatically changed the writers and they crossed out everything that was in the beginning.
From the good - Demet Ozdemir in the roles of Asla and Yusuf Chim in the role of Burak - well done. Sweet, kind, pleasant - to watch them pleasant, not boring, it is clear that they were comfortable to work together, especially in life at that time they transferred their feelings, it most likely also played a role in the fact that they played not bad. But the series did not last, unfortunately.
Almost do not remember the other characters, their motives, a lot of storylines left behind a huge number of questions that do not even list. Everything seems fine, but you feel the trick. Except, perhaps, Volkan, performed by Ekin Daimaz. I'm not familiar with his other works, but for some reason he's remembered. The changes that happened to his character were surprising. It’s not bad, but again, I can’t say I really liked his character. I was surprised and angry at the same time.
I will not focus on the plot - it is banal, but to be honest, I was very pleased with how the changes that occurred with Burak thanks to Asla were shown, I want to believe that indeed, he was not so sloppy as we showed him at the beginning and that he just needed to be believed and loved.
As a resume, the series will appeal to fans of light stories, where you do not need to especially follow the plot. If you do not expect anything from him, then he is able to please and cheer up.

Incredibly touching naive series about love, but too vanilla!
My first Turkish TV series was Number 309. I knew with my brain that it was nonsense, but it was so naive and beautiful that it was difficult to stop. Immediately after I finished watching, I wanted more Turkish soap! Probably, the Turks today are the only ones who shoot such series, which have absolutely nothing to do with reality, but drag in their naivety and belief that love and kindness always win, and beautiful views of Turkey and Muslim colorful traditions fascinate the eye. In the end, I went the classic way and found a series with the same main character.
I was very pleased that the series is not so much, because the Turks have a series of 2 hours. Of all the shows I've seen, this is probably the most vanilla and most detached from reality. Too much Asly (Demet Ozdemir) is positive, sweet, naive, but at the same time wise, patient and all so beautiful, and Burak (Yusuf Chim), being an ardent womanizer, toaster and traitor, as right at the click suddenly became such a lover, about which almost all young (and not only) girls dream.
The plot of the vanilla love story is banal, but at the same time it is exactly what girls who watch TV series are very fond of to bewilder, catch the energy of romance and distract from their everyday life, namely such girls are the target audience of this creation.
Burak, the son of one of Turkey’s richest families, is dating a childhood friend because it’s common among the rich. His girlfriend is a bright representative of rich tender women: incredibly arrogant, measures everything with money, used to achieve her own at any cost, and her attachment to the hero is nothing but a whim from the series “I want, so it will be mine.” She is the main evil of the series, although in fact a deeply unhappy girl who really wants to be loved.
Asly is the daughter of a servant, the only child in an incomplete family. The girl loves her mother very much and takes care of her by all means, including sacrificing her education.
As you know, great love begins with a quarrel, so it falls under his wheels, they swear and run away. And then fate begins to confront them in all sorts of ways, because this is fate!
Well, very touching, romantic, cute and vanilla... To such an extent that you sit like a fool and smile 48 teeth and press your hands to your chest and start repeating "Off yaaaa" after him.
The chemistry between the actors is beautiful! Well, it is understandable, because the main characters during the filming began to meet and then a couple of years seem to still meet. That is, the attraction between them was real, and the director and the operator competently packed all this into a love story.
Personally, I like and like the fact that kisses are straight school, everything is so decent and modest (in Turkey, it is forbidden to show anything frank on television). There is room for imagination.
Due to the fact that the series is too vanilla, it is difficult to keep the viewer’s attention. There was no real intrigue for me... I liked the first part the best. There were gorgeous views of Bodrum, Dutchy, there was a light of quarrels and disputes, there was some pepper of hamstrings, and after the writers connected them, they also became too vanilla to make fun of each other.
The last series was crumpled. Apparently, the decision to close the series was made yesterday, and today it is necessary to quickly remove the final. I am always very disappointed by the endings of our series, because they will shoot beautifully, interestingly, and then in 1.5 minutes they will show both the wedding and their life in 10 years. Shit! We watched and waited for this happy ending! So why not please the viewer?? They know why they watch these series... Well, naturally curtailed several storylines, without saying a word about it, and would very much like a logical and normal completion of all open lines.
I think of the Windy. There, the heroes yelled, roared, hysterical, pointed pistols at each other, stomped their feet and again roared and yelled, but the last 2 or 3 series, the writers very abundantly poured honey and gave the audience to enjoy the happiness of all the characters. There are moments, but it is for the sake of such happy endings that people watch romcoms. But Turkish cinema generally works very peculiarly, so we are waiting for them, when it comes to them, that it is time to change something.
Bottom line: this is the most vanilla series about the incredibly pure love of two very pure souls, Asla is an angel in the flesh, and Burak is the prince that every girl dreams of according to the writers. Very beautiful, very touching, the musical accompaniment is also wonderful.
In general, if you are looking for something very kind, bright, romantic, without any strong intrigues, then “Smell of strawberries” is for you! I was delighted, but I do not want to review completely, because it is too vanilla, but I am happy to periodically resurrect certain moments (mainly Bodrum and Datchu).
I hope that someone will benefit from my review!
P.S. About secondary characters did not write specifically, they played well, but in this series all around the main characters, the rest one way or another background. That’s just the ending.
It took a long time to get away with it. A beautiful series to relax from reality.
And most importantly, it's not long. How grateful I am to the creators for the adequate number of series, so much so that it seemed even small. They are pretty much everything.
The focus is on young, beautiful, modern characters. The main line of youth.
A classic story from hate to love, with intrigue, obstacles, sparks, chemistry, awe, experiences and joy.
Little reflects the historically established traditions and difficulties, but a little added to the series was not too sweet. But here it is for the best, because it is an easy series for resting the eyes and soul!
“The smell of strawberries” is a pleasant pastime, positive emotions, beautiful heroes and a great, just a great next work of Turkish cinema, which manages to give out the perfect combination of heroes, characters, pictures, script and cinematography, which together really give a high-class cinematic product. It is nice to see and can be sold in different countries.
“The smell of strawberries” is a vivid example of the very summer, light, romantic comedy, melodrama, provided for easy viewing.
Once again, I am surprised that all Turkish TV series are completely different, their characters are special personalities. They are not like the heroes of other series. Each time the plot and ideas of the director, the performance of the operator are original and not beaten. Having fallen in love with some Turkish series, it seems, well, you have already seen the best, everything else will either look like this is the best, or a fake for this best. And in practice it turns out that you are immersed in a completely new story, with heroes who are completely different from the past, so loved by you.
And it is surprising that in one series the ideal girl becomes, say, obstinate beauty with a sports lifestyle. And you think, yes, it can really become a modern ideal. In another series, a socialite appears before you, perfectly well-groomed and dressed, and you again penetrate – yes, this is exactly the kind of girl in demand today. And here we have a gentle, small, modest heroine, almost a child, who seemingly has no chance to become an ideal. However, she is so good, natural, honest, beautiful in those moments when she is deigned to paint and dress, that you unwittingly understand – and this is also a beauty, also a worthy object for great pure love.
I liked the main male roles and the actors performing them (Yusuf Chim and Ekin Mert Daimaz). I was surprised to find these long-legged Apollos. They created a great picture on the screen. It was nice to look at them in swimsuits, jeans, and business suits. Amazingly tall ladies, against their background, the main character looked just a baby, barely reaching them to their shoulders, although the actress is 170 cm tall, a very, very good female height.
As usual just "bravo" actors of the second plan, as well as the parents of the main characters! Always, absolutely always in Turkish TV series, these characters are perfect. Actors act as if they are living life. There is not an ounce of falsehood, fatigue, defects. Even the main characters in the last series, in the process of reconciliation, somewhat “sank”, it is clear that there was no strength to further squeeze out feelings. Parents of the main characters and characters of the second plan – never. From the first scene and the last shots, they are flawless and all here.
To sum up, from +:
- the unbeaten type of the main character, small and cute, who received her portion of the great first love. Looking at her, even more believe in fairy tales that such a simple and unremarkable girl can meet in broad daylight a “prince on a white horse”, and not even one, but a couple – tall, athletic, rich, who will fall in love with her “to the ears”;
- charismatic long-legged macho in the lead roles, which are just pleasant to watch;
- high morals and principles, demonstrated once again in the Turkish series - no cigarettes, a minimum of smeared alcohol, no pranks before the wedding;
- not the length of the plot, and not burdened with its stupid detective lines. 23 series look easy and free compared to, say, 56;
- the firmness of the main character in the final trials, which again contributes to the fabulous perception of history. And throughout the story, he shows enviable firmness in his intentions. In fact, he is the first to fall in love, makes every effort to hook the main character, actually beats her off other fans. He clearly sees the value of his chosen one, despite her ugly appearance, and systematically fights for her attention and feelings.
From the "-", which are practically absent:
- still there are broken storylines with secondary characters. That is, in the 1st season feels the reserve for the future, which has not received disclosure;
- I would like to see the continuation of the story, I would like to see the love story of Volkan, the solution to the secret of Basak, etc.

I lower 1 point for giving my heart and feelings to the Turkish TV series Waiting for the Sun. And despite the positive impression of “The Smell of Strawberries”, yet neither the intensity of passions, nor the chemistry between the main characters, nor the charismatic nature of Kerem Bursin, “The Smell of Strawberries” could not reach my ideal. Especially he does not cling to the soul, the series for 1 time, watch and forget.
Lovely, light, colorful and very beautiful series!
The action takes place against the backdrop of stunningly beautiful landscapes of Istanbul and Bodrum, in elegant houses and hotels. A sea of aesthetic pleasure from viewing! Very attractive actors, especially the main characters, they looked great together, really believe in their love, especially since during the filming they really started dating.
A huge plus of the series - it is short, a little more than 20 episodes. Enough to relax and get a little distracted from reality, but also in time to return to it. And another significant plus is that the writers did not turn the series into a great drama, everything is quite easy and adequate, although there are dramatic moments, of course, where without them.
After watching, there is a pleasant summer aftertaste, the series I want to revise somehow, and the beautiful soundtrack for a long time to listen.

' The Smell of Strawberries' is the first Turkish series that could bewitch my soul, fascinate with its sincerity and simplicity. And its main advantage is humor, easy and relaxed. They are accompanied by all events: from love scenes to quarrels and romantic vicissitudes between the main characters. Play actors, despite their inexperience and young age, captures from the very first seconds. The viewer begins to live the fate of the heroes with them. Live facial expressions, sensual views, expressive speech - all this contributes to a complete immersion in the original world of the series.
Asly and Burak are the first serial couple that struck me with the authenticity of the feelings and emotions played. They were so touching and tender towards each other that the thought of their real extra-serial love involuntarily creeped in. And for some time the actors really had this tender feeling for each other, which once again confirms the plausibility and skill of their acting at the same time.
' The Smell of Strawberries' is a Turkish comedy series that will take you into a world of love and hate, joy and suffering, teach you family customs and tell you about the values of life in Turkey. At the same time, you will not see the cruelty, vulgarity and other terrible things that cloud our reality.
I watched a Turkish TV series for the first time in my life. Prolonged from the very beginning - the brightness of the pictures, young actors, in general, everything attracted and beckoned, and the plot is very interesting. By the middle of the series I was getting bored. The same thing was repeated from day to day - Chegla plotted, Asly resented Burak and then quickly forgave him. The creators of the series managed to attract all sorts of intrigues and a new character - Basak, and this is the only thing that kept me behind the TV screen. But the biggest disappointment awaited me at the end of the series - I had high hopes for the last series, alas, the fate of many characters remained unsolved and unfinished.
Consider the two main characters:
Asly is an ideal girl, such in the white world you will not find, in a kind of unearthly girl. I think she lacked character, some zest, lack. The actress who played the role of Asla is very talented, well conveyed the emotions of the heroine, but sometimes irritated her stone face with an expression of some incomprehensible sadness.
Burak is a spoiled guy from a rich family. I have no complaints about his character. But actor Yusuf Jem well portrays a smile, and does it constantly, even when it seems not to smile.
And as for the other characters — I'm very interested in the story of Basak — why she left the family, how she ended up in prison, Volkan — did he find a girl for himself, or maybe it was Banu, Banu — the mystery girl, Emel — arranged her personal life? As you can see, many questions remain open, so what was the point of wasting time on this series!
Quite by chance I came across this series, and for some reason I decided to watch.
And he didn't disappoint me. Kind, sometimes naive and predictable series, fascinated with its colorfulness from the first minutes.
I am not disappointed in the selection of the main and secondary characters.
Asla is a kind and sweet girl who dreams of a prince like most girls. And he finds it, perhaps in the face of the initially obnoxious, arrogant Burak.
Burak is charismatic, sometimes horribly nasty, stubborn, a lover of flirting with every woman he meets. Who knows how his true love will change?
Volkan is the perfect cousin of Burak, whom he is set as an example. Works, studies, everything is so perfect. To be honest, I wanted to see him more in the series, and I would like him to find happiness too.
Chagla is an ideal girl, rich, stylish, but for the sake of her happiness she is ready for even the most terrible deeds. A typical example of a negative character. The dresses of this girl are always impeccable, I wanted to steal her wardrobe.
The rest of the characters are also well selected, I would like to highlight Elchin and Senan, who really harmonized with each other.
Of the negatives, some characters and their lines are undisclosed. Like Basak, Chegly and Ghani. How did they come to terms with everything so quickly? Of course, I believe that they have hearts, but I would like to see how they went to this, what influenced them.
Soundtrack. The song from the series calls to dance to it. There were a lot of good soundtracks in the series, (one by the way was performed by a guy playing Burak.) Some of them are now firmly settled in my playlist.
In general, I'm putting the series
9 out of 10
I take away the score for sometimes excessive tightness and unopened lines.
This is not the first Turkish series in my collection, but perhaps one of my favorites. This is a good summer view!
The plot, of course, does not shine with originality - another nice fairy tale about Cinderella and her Prince, but if you want something not tensing, for the soul, with beautiful actors and wonderful camera work, then welcome.
First of all, young girls will like it. Although I haven’t considered myself a young person for a long time, I enjoyed watching.
Cinema by all the rules of the genre is very naive, but, fortunately, there are almost no drawn-out and painful scenes here, which, alas, Turkish TV series often sin.
When two representatives of different worlds meet, before the obligatory happy ending, they will have a lot to experience all sorts of adventures and get nervous because of the machinations of envious and rivals.
And even despite the many intrigues and intricacies in the relationship of the main characters, which in many ways resemble roller coasters, the series is very kind and positive! It is a pleasure to watch!
Separately, I would like to note the camera shooting! Tourist Turkey, of course, there are many beautiful places, but, nevertheless, every time I caught myself on how skillfully the operator worked in this series! Shooting is just fascinating! I have been to Turkey many times, like me there is not much to surprise, but the film turned out to be very beautiful – the eastern magic of Istanbul, the sea in Bodrum and the chic southern nature just do not allow you to take your eyes off the screen.
And all this nonsense against the background of very attractive young actors - Yusuf Chima (Burak) and Demet Ozdemir (Asly). By the way, after filming in the series, young people continued their relationship in real life. They say that this is one of the most beautiful and popular couples in the acting environment of Turkey.
I will not retell the details of the plot - otherwise those who have not seen this series will not be so interested! As per the rules of the genre, everything will end well! And more than that.
But, as I said above, to experience together with the main characters also have a lot: the series is interesting. The plot is very dynamic, bored and put the video on pauses definitely do not have! It looks like a breath. I swallowed twenty-three episodes in five days. I think you will be just as exciting! With all my heart I recommend - helps brighten up everyday life, smile and forget about your problems for at least two hours in each series!

The score was reduced only for the banality of the story. How many of them were in different variations - these stories about Cinderella ... The originality here, of course, not very. And in everything else just a wonderful light, carefree summer and beautiful series with a strawberry fragrance! :
The Smell of Strawberries is an interesting youth series. In the story of the plot put the first, big, real love rich guy Burak and poor girl Asla. Also touched upon the relationship between parents and children, brothers and sisters, loyalty and betrayal of friends. The series is very colorful, sunny. The beautiful landscapes are breathtaking. The soundtrack of the series did not impress me much. She added two or three songs to her playlist. The actors were selected very well, and with their task coped 100%.
Now I want to share my opinion about the main characters of the series:
Asly is a young, beautiful, talented girl. She became an adornment of this series. With his kindness and naturalness, he conquers everyone. The surroundings of the girl are also suitable for her. Everything in her life is fine, and suddenly, by chance, she meets Burak’s troubled boyfriend. He loses everything, but finds the love of his life. That’s when the problems begin.
Burak is a young, narcissistic, charismatic guy. From the very first episode, I found him very spoiled and selfish. But after falling in love with Asla, he changes, and this is very noticeable in the subsequent series. You believe in his love, and it seems that he will do anything for the sake of his beloved girl. I didn’t like the character and I’ll explain why. From the first series, Burak uses Asla for his own purposes, and then allegedly falls in love with her. Watching their relationship, I believed in their great love. But when he began to take revenge on her, without understanding the situation, he made me very sad. Disappointed, I would say.
As for the ending of the series, I will say this: the wedding of the main characters showed, of course, beautiful, but the writers clearly made something up. I don't understand how everyone reconciled so quickly. And why in the end was this wedding necessary, because they are so young, you could end and wash the main characters. Whether they stay together or not, let each viewer decide for himself. The story of Basak was also not disclosed.
Modern youth cinema is an encyclopedia of friendship and love!
Modern youth cinema is an encyclopedia of love, friendship, and family life: charming relationships between spouses and relationships between parents and children of youth age.
The beauty in the many shots!
Beautiful nature, beautiful musical accompaniment and unusually charming main lyrical track, beautiful, modern clothing models for each hero change in each series, charming hairstyles of the main characters!
And what a high skill of the operator who managed to capture the heartfelt experiences of the film’s heroes so fantastically expressive!
Incredibly professional - accurate selection of actors absolutely for all roles!
The main heroine - Asla, is represented by the ideal of a modern young girl: a loving and attentive daughter who knows how to cook, keep a house, is not afraid of any work, artistic - loves music, dance and has promising works in the visual arts; a sincere and devoted friend, as well as charmingly sociable for an audience of all ages; able to meet her first love and keep a maiden honor!
Notable is the moment of the first use of alcohol Asla (through the most prepared friend - Ganzhi, which often leads to chronic dependence on alcohol) and the negative reaction of the body of a healthy girl.
The film deliberately excludes tobacco and (almost) alcoholic beverages.
What mutually touching interpersonal epithets are included in the scenario relevant to all peoples: “My Life”, “My Soul”, “My Love”, etc.
And what spiritual splendor is shown in the person of a secondary hero, the driver of Khalil - just a man of the future!
Thank you for the individually charming, gentle and hardworking character, the daughter of the owner of the confectionery room - Daphne.
The film is replete with sparkling humor, a recorded roar of a bear near the tents, scaring the “grooms” and examples of the moral foundations of life, for example: the selfless, devoted friendship of Asla and Ganzhi.
The filmmakers do not hesitate to show the unfailing shortcomings of the domestic temperament in the face of frank rudeness to the groom of the sister - brother Ganzhi!
The film convincingly shows that the spoiled moral freaks Chagla and Ghani still have a spark of humanity.
If you cut the profanity of Ghani (series 17) and the episode as Asla mentally strangles a rival - Chagla (18 episode), then the film content becomes
Perfect!
The film is a modern masterpiece of cinema, deserving the highest appreciation of any film festival, relevant for family home cinemas of young people (citizens) of all countries.
Congratulations to the writers, the director and all the actors!
You are the master of world cinema!
For the first time I encountered a Turkish TV series, because I used to watch only well-known American ones. And, to be honest, I was pleasantly surprised: the series is worth watching. Sweet, a little banal plot of this film came in handy for bright spring evenings. Only positive emotions from everything that happens in the series, the characters are very cute and quite artistic. Their behavior is so natural that it seems as if they live in Turkey – easy and simple.
One drawback: several storylines were cut and not disclosed, which makes the viewer think up the circumstances themselves. However, this does not prevent the two-hour series. In addition, there are many more positive characters than negative ones, so the series is truly kind and pleasant.
' The smell of strawberries' gave me the opportunity to love and start watching Turkish TV series, which are not much worse than the good old American ones.
Recently, Turkish TV series are gaining popularity, so my eyes accidentally fell on the picture “The Smell of Strawberries”.
This review will not be very long and I will not go into detail and talk about each character. The story, of course, everyone seems banal, a young ordinary girl meets a rich guy who certainly can not have anything in common, but then all the adventures begin. Believe me, there is something addictive, fun and of course romantic about the series. I want to note the selection of male characters, while watching the series pleased my eye to the very end.
In the end, I will say only that I enjoyed watching. If you want to relax and relax (of course, to a greater extent this applies to cute ladies), it's time to watch this good series.
