The Cold Alps In 2015, teen issues seem to have become a trend among European filmmakers. But Simon Jacumet’s film is notable for its chosen problem: troubled teenagers in Switzerland are not just sent to labor camps, but in more difficult cases sent to lonely alpine homes, where there are no milk, drugs, the Internet and social workers. There is only a small group of teenagers left to themselves.
The main character Matteo gets into a similar alpine hut, not really understanding the reasons for such betrayal by his parents. Each of the characters surrounding Matteo is terrifying in its own way. It was only in the middle of the film that I realized that one of his fellow linkers was a girl. And among the gray sky and the piercing wind is not born a love story, no, in this film in principle there are no bright feelings. The slowly unfolding story gathers pace and explodes in climax. In the end, we are left alone with a hero who has changed but never got hope for the future.
