Left on Hoth “Star Wars” by George Lucas, released in 1977, returned to the cinema magic, which he somewhat lost. An outstanding story based on well-known legends and myths, but at the same time beat the unique creative vision of George Lucas fell to the tastes of viewers of all ages and preferences. If earlier space fiction could not boast of proper embodiment, now it became clear that this is one of the most promising genres that need to be developed, investing in it not only money, and most importantly – the soul. The adventures of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia amazed with their discoveries. Before our eyes opened an unknown, full of wonders world. But not only the effects struck “Star Wars”. George Lucas was able to do what no one else could. The director breathed real life into the scenery and alien creatures, thanks to which the Galaxy he invented still looks real. Of course, it is clear to everyone that built buildings and monsters designed from a clean face are nothing but fiction, but when history works as a debugged mechanism, one does not want to look for shortcomings in it. You believe it and try to emphasize for yourself every nuance laid down by the authors. George Lucas brought about a technological and cultural revolution. And she couldn't pass without a trace. Hordes of loyal fans demanded from the director to continue his favorite story. But no one was going to shoot the sequel to the most popular film in a hurry, otherwise the franchise could end its existence, so effectively and not opening itself to the viewer in all its glory. Work on the next part, entitled “The Empire Strikes Back” stretched for many years, because of which the public could not calm down, demanding to brighten up the long wait with something special. In 1978, on the eve of the winter holidays, the first additional screen craft “Star Wars: Holiday Special” was released, uniting all the leading stars of the original film. However, the result was so depressing that George Lucas turned it down, trying to remove from use all available copies of the TV movie, although he did not succeed in full. Trying to play on the fame of the source, trusting him in the wrong hands, was a heavy blow, which, however, did not affect the fans’ love for Star Wars in general. The creators of the franchise released the next part, which became one of the best sequels of all time and peoples, and Star Wars again lit up with incredible force, allowing its authors to continue creative experiments. Including the special events.
The Empire Strikes Back presented viewers with completely different worlds than we saw in A New Hope. The main difference lies in the fact that the desert planet Tatooine was replaced by the ice block of Hoth, on which the most important battle of the Fifth episode took place. Going to shoot in Norway, the team of the creator of the “Star Wars” universe George Lucas and guest director Irvin Kershner challenged themselves. The audience needs to be constantly surprised. It is not for nothing that the first film attracted the public so much, because it showed things that no one could even imagine before. And this time it was not without interest. Hoth has become one of the most popular places in the galaxy far, far away. Against the backdrop of snowy landscapes, an incomparable battle took place, striking in its scale. The giant AT-AT walkers, led by Imperial pilots, faced the Rebel Snow Speeders in a life-and-death battle. Truly fascinating spectacle captivated even those viewers who were previously not particularly impressed with the attack on the Death Star! However, not one war was remembered Hot. As you would expect from George Lucas, he worked out the mythology of each part of his Galaxy to the smallest detail, inviting Lawrence Kasdan, who has a vivid imagination and savvy, to co-author. Together they came up with Town Towns and Vamp, the original fauna of the planet, worked out all the details of the Rebel Base and did not forget about the weather conditions in which sunny days are replaced by night snow storms.
It’s hard to find a better place to celebrate Christmas in the Star Wars universe than Hoth! Snow is associated with most of us not only with the repulsive cold and possible car accidents, but also a real holiday. Perhaps it was the snow that was lacking in "The Holiday Special," which took place on the wooded planet Kashyik, the birthplace of the Wookie. Well, at least the audience's bewilderment about the stupidity of the rest of the storyline would have been smoothed out by the Christmas visual series. Using the planet Hoth in history, the creators simply could not but use it for a second attempt to justify the failure of the past. George Lucas was the main initiator of the release of a small, but at the same time cute and even charming tape called “A Very Star Wars Christmas”. Knowing what to leave behind, Lucas completely refused to use the main characters of the main franchise in the filming, focusing the festive story on completely unknown characters, definitely worthy of attention as well as every part of this unique Galaxy!
So, the plot of “A Very Star Wars Christmas” takes place some time after the Rebel Alliance had to flee in a hurry from the planet Hoth, on which the Galactic Empire led by Darth Vader fell all its might. Fleeing from imminent death, the rebels left behind many valuable things. In addition, they were unable to evacuate all staff as it was simply physically impossible. Thus, our main characters are two soldiers, Koren and Vila. Being deprived of communication with the outside world, the guys remain at the mercy of each other, trying to survive in this inhospitable world, where every rock can hide a certain death. The characters are also not optimistic about their proximity to Wampas, hefty monsters living in caves. Eating only meat, they see no difference between Town Towns and people, tearing to shreds everyone who comes into their sights. But whatever legends go around the Vampi, in fact, they are far from as scary as they are described. If you make friends with them, you can understand that the monsters have a warm heart and, if necessary, can help uninvited guests in an emergency.
In Star Wars, there is no Christmas celebration. Our worlds are similar in some ways, but at the same time they are very different. In "A Very Star Wars Christmas" there is no direct reference to the fact that the action takes place exactly for the holiday. This is another story from the world of “Star Wars”, which allows us to distract from pressing affairs and feel joy without reference to reality. It doesn’t matter if the picture doesn’t mention Christmas. The main thing is that in “A Very Star Wars Christmas” there is the elusive spirit of the holiday, which we so often lack.
