Evgeny Vaganov, the man who directed this film, is primarily known as a film critic. But one day, apparently after reviewing the films of Sergey A. and Eldar Bogunov, he decided to make his own film. Scrambled 5000 rubles, pulled out friends, acquaintances, relatives, and then removed, mounted, posted. So what happened in the end?
Pros:
1. Cinematography. Thank you at least for the fact that operators have an idea of angles, and therefore operator work looks at the level.
2. Music. Also very well matched. It is diverse and not annoying at all.
3. Idea. We are not just another zombie, but a kind of similarity: people drinking water become obsessed with murder and destruction. This kind of infected in the cinema has not yet had time to get bored. Alas, the pros end here.
Cons.
1. Screenplay. Seriously, why do you have to talk so much? We are here to watch the action, the action, but no, the director-writer decided to insert more supposedly meaningful dialogues and problems of the characters. Does Vaganov really think that the viewer will worry about the heroes? No, heroes are just more annoying.
2. Acting. Smoothly moving to the second point. Actors don’t even want to portray emotions. The game can be either really good or so bad that it's brilliant. I'm willing to forgive bad play in thrash movies, but not a dull play. The only source of emotion is only a couple of episodic heroes.
3. Edit. That's the first thing that catches your eye. It feels like it was edited by a man who only went to the Movie maker twice, and as a result, the image format jumps from 4:3 to 19:9, the sound jumps from the quiet dialogue of the characters to the shouts in the style of “We are all going to die!” It was clearly a bad idea.
4. Special effects. They could have saved the movie along with the action scenes, but no, it's almost a complete failure. When a guy gets killed out of his mouth, it's not blood, it's ordinary water that's been dyed with a couple of drops of paint! Shots are just flashes! Some interesting and simple scenes that are very funny.
The film critic must remain the film critic, the director must remain the director. When a film critic decides to make a film the way he wants to make it, but without even delving into the basics of filmmaking, we get this. Infection is an example of how you can turn a 5,000-plus movie into a 50-plus movie, but it's very different from many, even modern, zombie movies, and it had potential, but the inept approach did its job. Vaganov himself promises to correct himself in the second part, which may see the light of day in 2016. So we'll see and see.
What do you want to see, including another movie? Panic, bloodshed, cool protagonist. (Or at least one of the three.) In general, the film should be entertaining, but in the case of Infection in 2015 this is not.
There is no blood, no likable heroes, no panic, only some kind of despondency. Imagine that you have as much as 5,000 rubles and a few friends, where will you spend this money? I think a lot of people would spend money on action, on special effects, on something else cool, and there’s none of that!
I will say even more, the film looks at the strength of 100-200 rubles. Also, I was very surprised that this film was made in 2015, but it looks like it was shot in 2005-2007 with a cassette camera.
Oh yes, the plot, in general, the water infected a large corporation, and then people, drinking water, turn into a kind of zombie, but do not eat, but just kill, but in contrast to this entanglement is the death of one of the heroes who just swallowed water and died! In general, the plot ends here, and the full biliberation begins.
Heroes don’t care so much that you don’t even remember their names. Actors talk nonsense, and absolutely emotionless. It seems that they did not want to film here at all and stood in front of the camera thinking: ' Well, when will it all end?'
The film could save a cheerful action, which very often pulls out many passing films, but the action here does not smell. The man took a sip of water, fell into the bushes, another killed completely random people, that's all. There's an inset of news from the 90s, but it doesn't count. Special effects are really badly done: screen flashes when shots are fired and apogees of stupidity - water instead of blood! You had money, is it so hard to buy cherry juice?
In general, it is absolutely a passing film. I don't recommend it. He's dull, boring and uninteresting. You want a good fit? Check out ' Last Summer. City of zombies & #39, which was shot for 7 000 rubles, but the film is absolutely not boring and even in places very funny. You can avoid the infection.
I don’t know who you have to be to make a movie with such a good idea. I understand that this is a directorial debut, but I have not seen such a suck in a long time.
From a technical point of view, I want to say:
1. Terrible sound. When viewing the sound is not at the same level, but jumps up and down and incredibly sharply, and even so that there is a real risk of getting deaf, if you are the same comrade in misfortune who twisted it to the maximum to hear music, and in the next frame sharply and without warning, the news announcer begins to meticulously shout “In Yekaterinburg riots!” People are panicking! (Incidentally, this is the only scary moment in this horror movie.) You can't hear conversations in places.
2. Video editing. Even in this, the easiest for such a low-budget film, the parts managed to grow. Around the picture is a black screen, which, apparently, is the best part of it, this is despite the fact that I watched in HD, and the picture cannot choose the format and jumps from a wide screen to a narrow one, and vice versa. It seems that the editor obviously took something while working on the film, or he is simply incompetent.
3. Special effects. At least a little, but they could pull the film, but the director-writer Evgeny Vaganov decided that the script is more important than special effects, and therefore the actors spit simple water. (Eldar Bogunov with his belly sausages even looks more adequate.) Shooting is a separate subject. Since Vaganov apparently was afraid to adopt Sergey A’s chromakey practice, and therefore the shots are depicted as a flash! You heard right, the whole screen for a second smoothly becomes bright, and then back to normal. This is where the special effects end.
4. Action. 1.5 action scenes per film. I said 1.5, because we have some kind of fight between the infected and the two heroes, and the scene where the heroine shoots a standing man is only partially action. The fall of the left man in the bushes does not count.
Well, I'm done with the technical part, moving on to everything else.
1. Acting. The level is 5 Eldar Bogunovs out of 10, as it can be seen that Vaganov apparently forced actors to appear in his film through force (possibly with the use of physical force, one character has a too believable bruise). In fact, most of the game is simply absent.
2. Screenplay. Apparently, Vaganov did not realize that it is very difficult to make a serious film for 5,000 rubles. In the film, a lot of attention is paid to the characters and their experiences, their feelings for each other. Most likely, the director simply does not understand that when the actors have friends, acquaintances, relatives, it is better to make the roles simpler. Movies with a similar budget is better to shoot thrash and fun. The movie should entertain the viewer, but the pleasure of this film is doubtful.
In general, we have a product of the lowest quality. If you want to watch really decent thrash horrors about zombies from Russia, then I advise Last Summer. Zombie City" and "Zombie Infection", and if you take the films shorter, then "Village of the Dead" or Eldar Bogunov's film "Rise from the Dead", and the version of 2012. I advise you to avoid the infection.
I did not expect anything special from this film, especially with a budget of 5,000 rubles. When a movie is made interesting, there is a lot to forgive. A good example is the last summer. The city of Zombie, filmed for 7 000 rubles with timekeeping in 55 minutes. Unfortunately, I cannot say anything good about the infection.
To begin with, the plot of this film is somewhat plagiarized from the film 'Mad Men' (contaminated water made people wet each other). Here everything is similar to the only difference that filmed the incompetent.
There is no main character in the film, and if the director is more talented, then something useful could be made of it, but everything is limited only by the fact that the characters appear on the screen and die. In fact, this is where the whole story ends.
But okay with the plot, maybe the film will be equipped with a good action, makeup, people with pate on their faces, but there is a miss. The blood in the movie is ordinary water! No, you didn't report that when someone is killed, ordinary water comes out of their mouth. Perhaps it was painted with something that was visible on white T-shirts, but everything looks like plain water.
The image itself jumps from 16:9 to 4:3 and vice versa. The editor apparently did it at 4:3, otherwise how to explain that when the picture is at 16:9, there is a black abyss of hopelessness around it. Mistake worthy of Sergey A. (although then he corrected, and already removes without jumps).
All the action in the film is 3 murders, and one death from an overdose of dyed water. And the murders are dismal. I might not have paid much attention to this, but here in the film 'Phone virus from a parallel world' there were only 4 murders, but they were spectacular. And the budget of the same virus is 4 times less infection.
In fact, the whole movie characters sit, talk, discuss. Speaking of conversations, you can't really hear them in places. Sometimes actors stand very close to the camera, even talking to it, and still not audible. But it's still flowers ' Wonderful' sound montage. I increased the volume several times, and then jumped up and in a cold sweat urgently reduced it, because in one frame you can not understand what they say, and abruptly begins to scream news announcer in the style ' we will all die'
In general, the work is absolutely talentless. I do not advise viewers to watch, but I advise director Evgeny Vaganov to correct his mistakes, or learn from Sergey A. to shoot a kinzo for 50 rubles, because this is the amount that the Infection claims. (Perhaps Vaganov just paid friends to just film here.) )
P.S. The director of this film, by the way, vehemently criticizes the work of Sergey A., despite the fact that he has recently released very funny films. In my opinion, having seen Sergey, Vaganov decided to make his film, but alas and ah.
