The film surprised primarily by the liveliness of the characters, they are both human and ordinary, and at the same time work in areas where there are not only people and whose laws can be more ruthless than human ones. No hypertrophiedness and pathos, but there is seriousness, weight and color of the characters.
The atmosphere is wonderful - breathing is easy but creepy or vice versa. The color development of the film deserves a very positive assessment, a lot of work has been done.
The stories shown in the film are a successful combination of two “barricades”, both sides are mystical. Each side works with both sides of reality, but in different ways, and when they are intertwined in the final plot, then their commonality and difference are manifested in a fuller form.
Summing up, the film is recommended for viewing by people who are tired of banal plots and want to think with their head, and not feed on a spoonful of the already chewed-up plot.

At the time of the show in the c / t "Fitile" the weak side of the film was the sound, over which the author's team has already worked for the better.

In general, the viewing surprised me pleasantly, I did not expect such a picture from the director’s debut and in general such a rich internal cultural program with numerous references to different mythological layers. Evil here is presented in three hypostases, and, even without computer graphics, it looks original and really creepy.
The film was shot on black and white film with rare red inserts (hand hammer, blood, lips) and the operator often gave just great plans. From the visual side, the film is made very skillfully, which, again, is not expected in a similar situation.

Borders consists of three novels, united by common characters, most of the roles are played by theatrical actors. As a result, the viewer is not an ordinary horror movie, but a thriller submitted in the arthouse key. There are, of course, small disadvantages, but considering that this is the first film of the team, I do not see any point in talking about them, everything will come with experience. I hope the filmmakers do not lose their passion and freshness of look and shoot something else.
