Couple of weirdos. What an amazing satire! Very subtle black humor! At the moment, where Deng Chao sings the song Vitas in Chinese - laughed to tears! Betty Sun (Sun Li) is one of my favorite actresses. An incredibly talented girl. She had to create a very unusual image in this film. The film itself is unusual, I would even say unconventional. High-quality black comedy, did not expect such quality from the Chinese.
But the story is as old as the world: a daring boy Mo Faili (Deng Chao), meets a gray-mouse girl Cha Xiaodao (Betty Sun), and they reveal only the best in each other. The boy becomes more patient and empathetic, the girl gains confidence and shoulder. It can even be said that the two lost souls have found a common meaning in life and some light in their meaningless existence. They complemented each other perfectly.
Not surprisingly, the main characters are played by spouses. Dan Chao did not lose out when he decided to take his other half as a partner: the actors feel so comfortable around you that you involuntarily penetrate what a perfect pair of eccentrics turned out on the screen. They are comical, absurd, lost, audacious, repulsed. It even has its own romance and is quite touching. It’s as if “two lonelinesss met.”
The plot is simple: heroes, bandits, money, a little humorous violence, many absurd situations. Something like a classic action movie in a black-comedy interpretation with elements of romance. The music was mixed, but everything fits.
The quality of the special effects and the costumes made me very happy. The makeup is great! You can see that the creators paid a lot of attention, effort and time to the details.
I highly recommend watching a pleasant evening, laughing, smiling, cheering up.
