I don't really like Turkish TV shows. Watched only ' Magnificent Century' and 'Kesem Sultan' and 'Angry Flowers' and all films and TV series with Beren Saat.
This series decided to watch for Sultan Suleiman (Khalit Ergench). What can I say? Not mine. A series without genre. What about love? Where was she? If it's about war and politics... One laugh. What's he talking about? I see on the screen a selfish family with two stupid children. The older one is beautiful and slim, but weak. The youngest is running around with the men and Leona is setting up. And where the love was they had... I love Turkish TV shows when there is love and not #39; war, politics, campaigns & #39; If there are no feelings, why would I watch? So, for Khalit (plays well) and Leona watched. The rest of the game is tolerable.
Appearance especially 'like'. Take Hilal, too. Looks 25 years old, fat and awkward. Unlike her sister, she is selfish and stupid. Well, take from 'bulba' and present as 'pure love'. Stupid! A patriot, as she likes to extol herself, would not do that. Never! Who is loyal to the family is Yildiz. Unhappy and beautiful girl, without a very clear line. Characters are dull and poorly spelled. Miray Daner doesn't have much play skills. Her partner is a handsome young man. I was looking at this for him.
I don't understand the rave reviews. The Turks made themselves the lambs of God again. How to define the genre of this 'masterpiece' War or love is unclear. I don't recommend it.
In our life there are such series that are not just remembered forever and for a long time, but fill your entire existence while watching. “Homeland” refers to such, small, paintings. I woke up thinking about him, dreaming, thinking and worrying even outside the house and watching. And the last 4 episodes stretched what is urine, knowing how much I will miss!
Turkish TV series are famous for some nudistics, meaningless dialogues, meager series of 2-2.5 hours, and frankly boring plot. We know, we’ve been there, we’ve been there many times. And here is a series of 59 episodes, and even on a military theme. and waiting for a trick to say “When will it be boring there?” ? Nothing like that. Not a minute passed without a trace for me. Each had a key for the next one. I only regretted one thing. I didn’t watch it a year ago! But closer to the point.
We will not deceive, but many viewers were conquered by Leonidas, who was flawlessly played by Boran Kuzum. Many people started watching this series because of him. I heard that the actor madly wanted to get this role and auditioned several times until he proved that he was born for the role of Leon. And of course, it is now easy to say that no one else and imagine now impossible, but if you scroll through the head of hundreds of male actors and their characters – none of them fits with the image of the Greek lieutenant.
A separate word deserves love line Hilal and Leon. The most separate!!! I don't even want to take into account the acting of Mirai and Boran. No, it wasn’t the professionals, it was people who really fell in love with each other during filming like Leon and Hilal. It was so real that, at times, my body reacted with a slight nausea because of the worries for these two. This is the first time this has happened.
The series itself as a whole picture is very thought out and detailed. If in the 20th episode someone whistled, in the 40th whistle only heard and action taken. As an example. Not a single plot twist is forgotten and they find their time for everything! And this is rare for Turkish TV series, which are closed due to low ratings left and right, and as a result do not have time to reveal some plot, but very important, trivia.
I was equally impressed by the lead storyline of Nurse Azize and General Jawdat. This is what happens when a real husband and wife play together. Applause! I give the writers all the compliments!
Each character of “Homeland” is in his place, and does not leave behind a drop of indifference. In no case do not detract from the talent of other actors, but in addition to Leon, I would like to highlight the unshakable play of Pynar Deniz, who played Yildiz! In addition to her charming beauty, she conquered me as an actress, and I sympathized with the character even more than Hilal, who faced difficulties at every turn. I would love to see more of this beautiful girl! Bravo! Special thanks to the writers for her love line with Yakub. For me, it came out much more interesting and harmonious than with Ali-Kemal.
The review of the series involves not a retelling of what you saw, but the received feelings of the beholder. I don’t want to be read by anyone. It is vitally important for me to make such reviews in order to throw out the emotional cup of my soul and be ready for the next adventure.
And yes, starting to watch "Homeland", prepare yourself mentally for the last series. For the rivers of the world will be filled with your tears.

It's a bit shallow on a global scale, but in general, very, very...
The series “You Are My Homeland” is a product of Turkish cinema of very high quality. Of course, we need to get a little involved. Perhaps from the first series, the series will not seem watchable, since it is still a historical drama, not a love melodrama. But if you overpower yourself, and endure the first few episodes - you will not regret. "You are my Motherland" - extremely interesting, dynamic, with detective twists, with great actors, a great series.
The history of the Greek-Turkish conflict is somewhat alarming and reduces the value of the events taking place. Some sense of pettiness on a global scale does not let go throughout the series. To us, brought up on the history of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, the Civil War of 1917-1922, the events of the endless conflict between Greece and Turkey over some separate cities, territories, then Soloniki, then Izmir, may seem small. When we say “homeland”, we mean a huge Russia. When in the series described, they say “Homeland”, they mean Soloniki or Izmir, that is, a separate city. However, apparently, for Turkey, these are the most important historical events, since the whole series is devoted to them.
Not taking into account that this is a conflict between not large and not dominant in world geopolitics, by the standards of Russia, countries, for similarly small territories, in the rest of the series everything is adult – military events, civil war, guerrilla war, suffering of civilians, traitors, defectors, secret agents, scouts, moles, etc. entourage of wartime.
As for the cast, first of all, it is Khalit Ergench (Colonel Jevdet). For me, this is a brand that says that the series will definitely be successful, and it is definitely necessary to watch. The great Turkish actor, who, as we know, can play all the power of feelings, all the vicissitudes of events with one glance of blue eyes, standing still, in this case, he jumps on a horse, and runs through the forest, shoots, changes costumes, guises. And I must say that action suits him. It turns out that he is very good when running in the woods, straight westerns about the Wild West with a brutal cowboy - the main character, come to mind.
Halit Ergench and his wife Berguzar Korel (nurse Azizé) not only created magnificent images, but also clearly outplayed themselves from “One Thousand and One Nights”. As far as I know, Turkish cinema is trying to prevent the use of screen pairs in other TV series. However, the experience of the couple “Khalit Ergench – Berguzar Korel” turned out to be extremely successful. Not only did they repeat, they surpassed their success from The Thousand and One Nights.
In other reviews, I read that many people started watching the series because of Boran Kuzuma (Lieutenant Leon). Honestly, I didn’t know this actor before, of course I asked who I was talking about, but neither he nor his role was particularly inspired. If it were not for the information that many people started watching the series because of him, I would not pay much attention to this character and the actor who played him. The score is "mediocre." His own partner on the series Mirai Daner (Hilal) at times outplayed him and secured the status of a young, successful, promising, talented actress. Although at the time of filming the series, the actress was not yet 20 years old.
Somewhat reduces the overall impression of the chamber painting. Not much natural filming. Basically, all events take place in the pavilions, which slightly pushes the series away from the highest ratings, because we know that modern Turkish series perfectly cope with both street and field shooting, presenting the events more reliably.
In general, nothing at all!
It was a bit heavy for me, because it has almost no easy melodramatic component. It's not about that. Of course, the authors in the first season tried to stir up some Santa Barbara, in the second season picked up the tails of the first, and in the first place came the war and military operations at the highest level.
To describe the series briefly, I want to characterize it as Turkish 'Seventeen Moments of Spring' no happy ending. Only if Shtrilitz’s wife was only shown, then in 'Homeland' the family is present in full with an understandable attitude to his son, husband and father, which does not facilitate his already difficult task.
So why did I bite this cactus? Because I was very interested to see the new work of a married couple of actors Khalit Ergench and Berguzar Korel, the first after the iconic for them '1001 nights'. And in the course of the series, it turned out that the Taylan brothers, widely known after ' Magnificent Century', here and there familiar faces appear: Okan Yalabyk, Selma Ergech, Tolga Tekin, Saadet Aksoy from ' Magnificent Century', completely unrecognizable Boran Kuzum from ' The Kyosem Empire' and even Teoman Kumbaranjibashi from the same '1001 night' lit up. So they made it easy and easy to see.
Made as always qualitatively, although it was clear that the city is a naked pavilion, Ergench and Korel are chic, as, indeed, all the other actors.
Watch history buffs who may be interested in how the Turks present the events of the Greek-Turkish war and those who love this whole military-espionage-intelligence topic. Real persons are to some extent the main character (forgot the name of the person who really did all this - based on real events, yes) and Latifa Usaklygil (the first first first lady of Turkey) flashed. Well, Ataturk, who was shown exclusively from the back or from the viewer (just like Putin in our modern films).
And the usual serial slob about love there at least.
I started watching this series on the first day. A lot of actors I know have been filmed. I've dropped two times and started watching again.
This series is military-patriotic, shows real historical events, and a man like Jevdet really existed. Politics is not enough, so those who love women’s soap operas, the series is better not to watch, it is a completely different genre. Also, the series is heavy, not suitable for fans of light youth series.
The series clearly shows who is a true traitor and who is a patriot. Heroes face a difficult choice: homeland or love, death for their homeland or betrayal of their homeland for love; be a traitor in the eyes of a mother, wife and children in the name of saving their homeland in the future or tell them the truth at the risk of losing everything. This series makes us think. We can see such difficult situations in life as falling in love with a girl who is considered your sister; a Turkish woman falling in love with a Greek and two sisters in the same guy; betrayal by her best friend; the sentence of her own child to death and despair. We can see in the series not only pure and deep love, but also impossible.
The series tells about the beginning of the 20th century, when the Greeks occupied Izmir, and the main characters first have to live with the Greeks under the same roof. The daughters of the main character Aziza are two opposites: one girl is a patriot, the other goes to Greek balls. And how fate can develop in the future for each of them - you can not immediately guess.
The cast in this series is great, everything is in its place. Actors perform their roles for 100.
The intrigue in the first season is enough, although the first series are very long. The script is thoughtful, many unpredictable plot twists.
In the second season, on the contrary, the first series are interesting, and then look at nothing, no intrigue, while watching you can fall asleep. Lost interest. And the ratings for the second season are appropriate.
In the series, there are many drawn-out dialogues that do not carry a semantic load, which could be cut out.
I didn’t like the picture, it was dark.
The musical accompaniment is good, but there are separate soundtracks, from which it is sleepy.
In general, the series can be watched once, but I would not personally review it.

In the Soviet Union, epic films such as Vasily Buslaev, Ilya Muromets, Finist is a Clear Falcon, cartoons such as Swans of Nepryadva, Vasilisa Mikulishna, Childhood of Ratibor were shot, even in our time one cartoon Prince Vladimir broke through. I wanted to find a modern picture without clowns and vulgarity, in which the main character, his supporters and even enemies are strong, decent, sustained people who have honor and know the value of their word. I’m not saying that “You are my Motherland” is comparable to the above films, but if you were looking for seriousness, dignity and true love for the Motherland, and not pseudo-patriotism and jingoism, then this film is for you.
Don’t be afraid enough of a pop annotation to the film, which would be more suitable for some regular Russified Santa Barbara, for that reason: the plot of the picture is built so that even a grain of unnecessary information can spoiler you viewing the next series, and even the entire first season.
The plot of the film is one of the strengths and at the same time weaknesses, and all because it should be divided into at least two parallel parts: military and family. When you watch the series, the thought comes to mind that the plot was written by completely different people, because everything is fine in terms of military operations, espionage activities, and plot twists and decisions are very often unpredictable (if you, of course, are inattentive to small, at first glance unimportant, details). The film periodically provides an opportunity for the viewer to be in the place of the characters and try to understand whether they lie to you or not, to guess what will happen next. But, and that’s a very big BUT, when it comes to relationships, family disputes, we are held hostage to illogicality, meaningless tantrums, inadequate decisions, and so on. I want to either turn off the series, or rewind these episodes, but preferably without losing the plot meaning. At first, it will not be very stressful, because this aspect is not given much time, but then it will be very difficult. In short, if you hold on to it, you will be satisfied with the film that remains.
It is nice that in the film there is no disgraceful and pouring from everywhere propaganda of debauchery, greed, dishonesty, smoking and even glasses with alcoholic beverages are deliberately blurred. You will not see clowning, unjustified bloodshed, effeminate behavior of men, almost no abuse. But he will find love for the Motherland, inhuman endurance, honor and dignity of positive characters and even not only them.
The roles of the characters are played perfectly, you can see that the actors got used to them for real. Among the beautifully played Tevfik, Yakup, Charles, Eshref, Stavros, Vasily and others, separately note the lead actor Khalit Ergench (Jevdet) - a real talent, the role played to the smallest detail, he really empathize and believe. Bravo!
It’s funny enough that sometimes during the course of the film you catch yourself thinking that the Turks could not shoot it, it was probably shot by the Greeks! Because the actions of ordinary and only ordinary Turkish citizens (not to be confused with the main character and his associates) caused bewilderment by their inadequacy, childishness and outright stupidity, while the Greek forces for the most part acted softly, understandably and adequately for the conqueror (except for one episode). By the way, the attempt of the writers to insert a modified story a la Taras Bulba looks very dubious idea.
And finally, the film is based on real events, and the prototype of the main character is Mumin Akskaya. It is nice that Turkey talks about its heroes and their exploits and does it beautifully, as the Soviet Union knew how to do.
