To be honest, I have always believed that such a phenomenon as a friendly court existed only in the USSR and with it sunk into oblivion. However, as it turned out, there is something similar in Korean schools, although they have a kind of imitation of a real court with all the attributes and seriousness of what is happening. The court, which has become a forced concession to children's desires, becomes for adults, let us say, a discovery that children have already crossed the line of childhood and are entering adulthood, and at the same time claim equal rights with adults, demand justice, recognition of their opinion as having a place to be and it is impossible to dismiss all this as a child's game.
The narration in the drama is rather about the supporting heroes: Han Ji Hoon, Choi Woo Heke, Lee So Woo. Their example shows one of the main plans – children as a reflection, as creatures created by adults (parents, teachers, society). A parent can put great love in their child, like Han Ji Hoon. Or coupled with the assistance of teachers and educators, great hatred and aggression, as in the scumbag Choi Woo-hyek. And about more difficult children, weaker (or stronger?) society can stumble, like Lee So Wu.
Watching such dramas, you understand that people are the same anywhere on the planet. I'm sure everyone in the class had their own Choi Woo Heek. Here, this type caused me the same anger as my classmate once did, but later Wu Heck caused pity. As a result, this hero becomes not just an adult, but a mature one. I think in real life not every bully undergoes such metamorphosis.
Han Ji Hoon and Lee Seo Woo boys are not simple, in something the same, in something completely different. Han Ji Hoon, who has support and protection in life. Lee Seo Woo is thirsty for life and at the same time rejects it, has no protection except his fellow young friend, although he is so desperate for it.
The main character Ko So Yong is introduced as an example of indifference. A prosperous girl from a happy friendly family, preferring not to notice someone else’s misfortune, another time finds the strength not to turn away, not to remain in her well-being, closing her eyes to other people’s troubles.
The drama is a bit like Mommy in anger, but, unlike her, completely devoid of romance and humorous frivolity.
All young actors, not only the first and second plan, at the level, are not inferior to more experienced colleagues. I hope to see more work with them in the future, and of course I recommend this drama to watch.
