Genius as it is. I would like to thank A. Fedorchenko and all the creators of this picture, which delivers not only visual pleasure, but also leads to catharsis in the audience in the final.
Outside of the background (and great knowledge about the creative path of M. Zoshchenko), a thoughtful viewer easily recognizes either himself or his acquaintances in the characters of this film, especially those who were still born in the Union. The genius of the work, and perhaps the director himself, in the exact hit of the nerve of our time, the film was shot in 2021, but predicts the events of this year.
You not only empathize with Leonid in his search for the truth, his investigation and the “underlying” character Semyon Kurochkin, but you yourself are the last “Sweet Bulgaria” and the last seed.
When the Motherland, time, or history in parts (like the proverbial dog’s tail from an anecdote) cuts off an apple tree, a seed from you and when you see it on the screen, it shakes to tears that someone feels the time of his life just like you do. What is not lost in my generation.
I share the director’s position in this work: not everything can be measured by Freudianism and childhood injuries, there is also a being that not only determines consciousness (suddenly!), but also turns Mandelstam’s “blood bones in the wheel” (the wheel that the carrot doctor spins), blows up statues, stops in an oprich dance.
Is it possible that history - like the uniform of the Gogol officer Zhevakin from "Marriage" - can be changed and worn again as new?
Will we wait for the last seed to grow?
