The beautiful Russia of the future is like that. If you are shooting a black woman (and I am firmly convinced that Russia in this short film is blacker than Zvyagintsev), then you must understand that there is a line between ' Truth cuts' and the theater of the absurd, in which you simply do not believe. Someone skillfully shows the black woman at the same time without bringing her to absurdity, such as Bulls.
So here's the film ' Outcast' this line on Kamaz moved.
Now I understand why he has so many awards at festivals abroad. Russia is shown simply beautifully, and takes pride in the country. This imaginary idiotic country where everyone drinks, smokes and sells drugs, and only one Mikhail Baratov in the middle of this shit is on the right path, he is like a ray of light in the dark. In fact, I understand why this is done in order to separate Baratov from the rest of the gray mass and to show the abomination of the present society. I don’t understand why this is done so stupidly. They just take a problem like drinking and hyperbolize it as much as possible. Seriously, everyone who meets Baratov on his way either gets drunk, or is going to drink, or is engaged in some other bad things. That is, drunkenness here is elevated to absolute, every first according to the film, in this stupid world - a drunkard, except Baratov. This is brought to the point of absurdity, everyone understands that there are pregnant women drinking, teenagers, old people, why dump all this on us in such a clumsy form & #39; look, they are bad, he is good & #39; as if we are fools and we ourselves can not understand. A couple of scenes would be enough. In short, I did not like the kingdom of alcoholics, which is presented here as Russia, not because ' STOP FOR RASH' but because it is simply not true and is made to distinguish black from white in the easiest and easiest way. And also, how the hell does he know all these people, they're from a completely different circle, a different environment, they have different interests, why would he meet them if they're like that, and he is like that. I don’t understand on what principle in this film Baratov chose his acquaintances, like, get acquainted with alcoholics, to look better against their background? Well, the former classmate is fine, they're not chosen, but why the hell do other people know him, a goose pig is not a comrade. About the actors: I know they're not professional actors, but they are. Baratov is an absolute stone, these lifeless & #39; no', ' I must go' etc., just permeate with their cold and soullessness. It was as if the words had to be pulled out. Gopnik, who at the end of the film about school joked, on the contrary, wildly overplayed, in the first scene Baratov drooled, in the second-boy, these 'EE',' YOU CHO,A', well, everything is clear, something at the level of gopniks from 'Our Russia'. Operator - not so, even in 'School of the bar ', the plans of elements on the bar were more beautiful. The script is also ordinary, but clogged in the tail and in the mane, well, I have already written about the country of alcoholics and Baratov, as ' Nitakoy as all divergent'.
Bottom line: it would be fine for an amateur movie if Baratov had screwed it up himself, but I see a bunch of studios in the title, so it could have been much better, apparently. Of course, you can’t squeeze a strong drama out of such a scenario, but with the right setting of scenes and dialogues, something good could turn out.
