I do not particularly follow French film production, but rather watch what lies on ' surfaces': light youth and family comedies, ' heavyweight' movies with old stars, various European films with Canal+, usually about a variety of freaks. Separate 'genres' films starring Jean Reno and Luc Besson. That's all. Genre cinema ' on the surface ' was absent and it seemed to me that in Europe it was completely transferred to the British. But no, France continues to please genre films, stuffing their truth on TV.
Well, we see the classic detective, where criminals cheat, the investigation follows its own, often false, ways, there is a method of SH, the personal life of GG is also shown, in some places it is no less fascinating than the main plot line, but still remains secondary - not protruding immodestly on top of the base. What happens dynamically - not at all like the usual body products - where the action is ' smeared' in time with the aim of giving less and taking more. The actors are quite harmonious in their images. Yes, there are no special emotions, arcs of characters - everything covers his highness genre - but the visible is already captivating with its incomprehensibility, mystery and the desire to unravel is stronger ' aesthetics', which is facilitated by a solid literary basis - the book of Gilda Piersanti, who spoke here to co-authors in the script.
And the previous works of this team, executed probably as well, being viewed one after another, in my opinion, can compete with any other series in this genre.
