The patient is more dead than alive. The film disappointed. It seems that the actors are good, and the idea is interesting, and filmed easily, dynamically, there are bright colors. But I personally didn't like it. I will tell you in two words what it is about, since there is no description on the site.
Anyone who watches Indian cinema and is interested in the culture of this country knows that Indians have such a custom: tying a rakha on the hand. And as the girl tied her in the hand of the guy, he becomes her kind of named brother - he must now take care of her, protect her, but there can be no loving thoughts in her regard now. In this film, this idea is exaggerated - someone looks at a girl with a love thirst, as he is grabbed and force the girl to tie a kicking guy rakhi. All, hurrah, the honor of the family is saved, the heart of the guy is broken, and no one cares about the thoughts and feelings of the girl, as usual. The hero, or rather the main character of this film (he is weak, timid, mummy and smudge, so I can’t talk about him as a “hero”) loves the girl from the next house all his life, he is trusted as a brother, called for all the troubles, and he wants to marry her. There he lied, then he was afraid to confess, here he misled, somewhere he nodded his head when it was necessary to open his mouth, now several groups are fighting for the girl at once to pass her off as his representative.
Why didn't I like it? Well, first of all, the game Sruti Hasan. Yes, she is not a great actress, usually a nice addition to the main character, but here she so strained out at least some emotions that they often did not correspond to what was happening at that moment on the screen. Like, be glad I'm doing anything at all. As a result, her character did not reveal completely. And against the background of the natural game Rajkumar Rao, she did not look like a live fighting girl (as was stated), but a mannered girl who can only wrinkle her forehead, frown and smile stupidly. Secondly, it was extremely unpleasant to watch that the girl, like a prize cup passed from hand to hand, everyone decides whom to marry her (even neighbors), and she like an obedient cow goes to one owner, then to another. Especially when you consider that at the beginning of the film it was she who stood up for courage, personally caught the guys, giving their heart secrets to others, so that they were tied up rakhas. How easily at the beginning of the film she talked about courage and recognition, but fell silent when courage was needed from her. Thirdly, I have not seen love at all. Nobody really likes anyone here. Even the main character’s attempts to “prove his love” are based on the fact that he does nasty things to others. How this confirms his feelings has remained a mystery to me. And the fourth downside is the male characters. Or rather, young male characters. All of them are sluggish, uninitiative, lazy and empty talkers. It’s about their destinies (and then their lives), but their attitude is, ‘You make something up.’ And yourself? Take fate into your own hands, achieve your goals? No, it's easier to walk with your head down, it's pathetic to nod while your parents decide, keep quiet, and then get drunk and brag. It is a shame, and therefore does not cause sympathy.
Well, to end on a positive note: pleased with the appearance of Gulshan Grover - you can already see the age, gray, but the look is the same angry and furious as in the early films. A villain is always a villain, even after so many years, you feel the bandit energy of his character. And Darshan Jariwala (father of the main character) also opened interestingly at the end, directly respected him. Here in the behavior of these characters was logic and power, unlike the young representatives of the male population of the town.
If the disadvantages listed by me do not bother you, you can see: there are no fights, comedians too, humor is built on the knowledge of other Indian films, the film itself is not tense, not boring, not long. But for me, a good film is not the absence of minuses, but the presence of pluses. There weren’t many of them, so I don’t regret watching the film (I saw a weak character played by Rajkumar Rao – I didn’t think he could be so pathetic), but I also delete it without regret.
