The solution that we deserved Given that this is apparently the last lifetime film about Issei Sagawa – it can be regarded as the latent confession of an aged, sick, incorrigible cannibal and the logical conclusion of a unique media story that became in fact the “expansion” of his life repeatedly fixated around one single event to its very end.
Unique this work of documentary art makes not the author’s presentation of “shock-content”, as it may seem from the title to a casual viewer, but the presence in this story of his brother – Jun Sagawa, as well as the presence of documentary footage from the family archive, which allows you to look at the story with Issei from a radically different angle of rivalry between the two brothers, of course within the framework of the existing drama, as we certainly will never know, but as the most important formative details are known and manifested best, especially when it comes to murder and cannibalism ...
The film is worth watching only hungry for the history of this character, for everyone else it will seem overly long cinematography of several scenes on an uncomfortable close-up, which could easily fit into a short film.
