Piquant surprise In the second half of the distant 1900s, the Austrian director Johan Schwarzer one by one produced tapes of erotic orientation, each time stuffing his hand on them. By 1910, the director knew exactly what he could shoot and what audiences expected of him. Surprisingly, filmed back in 1896, The Kiss looks disgusting and repulsive despite its seemingly innocent, while every Schwarzer film has a mandatory nudity, but it looks much more aesthetic and attractive.
This movie is both sensual and funny. Noble gentlemen, having had fun in a diner, go to the artist’s apartment to prank their friend. He is given a marble statue, which is actually depicted by a living model. It is beautiful and really resembles the works of ancient masters. Enchanted, the artist strokes the sculpture, unaware of the upcoming surprise. Not only the finale is funny, but also the artist’s behavior from the moment he appeared in the frame! Do we all look so funny under the influence of love?
In addition, we have a good example where even in the absence of sound, you intuitively guess what the characters are talking about. The situation itself must be telling you everything you need.
Despite the fact that in the years of filming, Schwarzer’s films were considered obscene, today we understand that this is high eroticism. There is no unnecessary violence, no insults, no emphasis on gross sexual attraction. The director showed the beauty of the female body and played around the bareness of interesting and funny scenes, which, having survived to this day, strongly contrast with later frank content, which is sometimes devoid of any artistic taste.
