Unbearable Neighbors on the Path of War Sometimes it is very difficult to get along with neighbors. Some of them behave openly bad and do not think at all about how they are seen by those who live in the neighborhood. But sometimes it also happens that we ourselves are not an example of good behavior, and in this case, neighboring wars can reach a completely different level, which we see in the new comedy “Evil Neighbors”, which stands out 6 with quite interesting life revelations and good humor.
The main character of the film is the famous writer Harry March, who lives in a cozy house on a remote quiet island. Once March earned a very serious reputation and the capital to live as he wants. The writer does not care for a long time about how society works there. He is fixated on himself and his rest, as well as the dog, with whom he sometimes has long dialogues. At the same time, Mr. March is preparing to release his new masterpiece, which should thunder across the literary world like thunder. But to finish the job, he needs to focus on writing, which will be difficult to do.
The fact is that on a quiet island where the writer lives, a billionaire built his huge mansion, which, like March, is in no hurry to catch people’s eyes. But the problem here is that with a billionaire, a huge number of outsiders immediately appear who make noise, make fuss and generally interfere with the pacification of the quarrelsome March. He does not want to put up with this and begins to conduct his struggle, which can result in something confused, wild and at the same time funny.
Stories about irreconcilable neighbors are far from new in world cinema and this film could well become one of many on a given topic, and nevertheless the film “Evil Neighbors” is primarily distinguished by the filigree play of Frank Langella. This actor has repeatedly played negative and sinister images, but now he tried to show us the unexpected facets of his incredible talent and coped with it just fine. In many ways, it is Langella’s hero, writer March, that is the reason why this film is worth watching.
March is far from young, his best friend is the dog he speaks to, and his entourage sees it as the initial stage of insanity. But at the same time, March is a well-read and intelligent person, he has something to say about society, himself and his neighbors. Sometimes, of course, he crosses the boundaries of the permissible and breaks down, but personally I believe in the sincerity of this image and Langella is just magnificent here.
As a result, I can safely say that “Evil Neighbors” is a pretty good life comedy that arouses interest and can have fun. The main thing is to watch the film carefully, because there are many intriguing and important details.
