Corruption is everything. Hello to all cinematics and lovers of crime dramas! Got on the preview of the painting “Corruption” and is ready to share with you impressions! The plot tells about just served time Liam. In order to atone for the guilt in front of the family, the guy turns to wealthy entrepreneur Clifford Cullen for help, but eventually finds himself in the center of a criminal conspiracy. The protagonist must at all costs get out of this dirty game to save his family.
I watched the trailer before the movie, but it didn’t impress me. I tuned in to a tasteless and hopeless movie, but thank God I was wrong. The tape, though not one drawback, but it turned out not so bad! Let’s find out why you can scold the “corrupt officer”, and for what to praise.
As always, I'll start with caste. Sam Claflin (you could see him in the second, third and fourth installments of The Hunger Games, as well as in Meet You). Despite the excessive normality of the image, the actor managed to “revive” the character with his emotions, for which Claflin has a huge respect. You can watch the movie because of its charisma. All the other actors were madly disappointed, as everyone went with gray grimaces and resembled soulless dolls.
The characters seemed too callous to me. Their motives were very superficial, their actions were sometimes illogical and not explained in any way, and their character did not catch on. The characters did not do anything outstanding, behaved most often like selfish and scum, because of which I did not feel anything for them.
The role of the antagonist was performed by the chic Timothy Spall (known for the role of Peter Pettigrew in the Harry Potter saga). I really liked Spall's game, but it's not so rosy with the Lihodei himself. He has no background, no motivation, strategies are not so insidious, speaks in clichéd phrases. Just a bad uncle and that's all.
The script turned out to be interesting. He covered serious modern problems (the same corruption), could surprise with a few plot twists, but... The picture does not manage to keep the degree of tension at all, and the plot structure is VERY simple and not multilayered, due to which the viewer can initially predict how everything will end.
The tape caught the most that neither is the jackpot in terms of clichés. Here and the main character with a dark past, who after leaving prison instantly becomes good, and the villain who harmed Liam as a child, and the innocent wife of the protagonist, annoying the whole film with the phrases “You promised that you will tie”, and his brother, because of which all the positive characters get into trouble.
I'll summarize. The film clearly lacked stars from the sky, something special, thanks to which “Corruption” stood out from the background of other crime dramas. And so, the tape came out strong “average”, which you can look once if you miss such a movie.
