Heated debates about this film are not without thoroughness. It is worth remembering that back in the 70s, at that time in semi-liberal Germany, alternative directors who made documentary films about the movement ' Resistance', threateningly branded traitors by the public and criticism. However, many of those directors later became cult. After all, for a big story, it is not about what you shoot, but how you shoot and for what.
The film "Bubenets" is a bold, tough and not stupid cultural act. The purpose of which is to show the horror and meaninglessness of war. Filmed without editing glues, the film casts aside all questions about the authenticity of the material. It would seem that the shading that fell on the picture after the show at the festival 'Artdokfest'. There is only one claim: where is the moral?
The viewer sees far from moral, from his point of view, action and this depresses him. The average person is used to seeing pictures that give an answer to the question of how to live properly. Going to the cinema, for the viewer, is primarily an act of psychotherapy. If there is a thug in the movie, he should be punished. If there is a villain in the movie, a superhero will stop him.
But real life is not a feature film, with predefined characters. It's not that simple. And the real war is different from the movie ' And the dawns are quiet ' Therefore, from the point of view of documentary, accurate recording of events is the height of directorial skill. It takes courage to make a film like this.
The audience is unhappy that the heroes of the film are not the guys for whom they are ready to cheer. And they fight against those whom the public wants to sympathize with. Therefore, from the point of view of a part of Russian society ' Flight of a Bullet' - the film is immoral.
Remember that rarely a war is right. In this case, war is terrible, senseless and stupid. And if the viewer accepts this reality and does not mentally resist it, by searching for the inherent morality in the characters. He will watch the film without prejudice. I am sure that such a viewer will have something to think about after the session.
