Tough story. What's always hurtful? It's that many good TV shows have the misfortune of closing, while mediocre or sliding continue to pull the veins out of their viewers. Regarding Mehmet, the Conqueror of the World, we can say the following: he did not meet the expectations of some segments of the female population.
There is no denying that the script is weak in some places, but it is much more meaningful than the same “Kesem Empire”, in which there is almost nothing to look at except the incessant female showdowns, which is not the same as the showdowns in the “Magnificent Age”. In Mehmet, women generally play a mediated role, men come to the fore here, and this is very interesting: quite tough intrigues, logically well planned, very pleasant male faces and a strong and crafty image of the sultan who begins his journey to becoming one of the greatest rulers of the Ottoman Empire. Yes, there’s no “sugar snot” (almost), but the series has just begun to rock, breaking off in the most interesting place. It is a story, and suddenly it is a cliff. It is clear that everything is based on ratings, but it was possible to bring it to some point, making a decent final at least on the capture of Constantinople. This is an organizational issue.
What did not like, so again freebies Aitekina Atash, who already to "Empire Kesem" nothing special in the soundtrack did not write. It doesn't seem like it. The scenery is very beautiful, as well as the field shooting, and the sultan’s palace – you understand that this is the same “old palace” from “VV” (after all, Istanbul does not yet exist – so much more interesting). I, for example, really liked the echoes of the series about Suleiman I, nostalgia even felt. You can see from the prescribed characters how similar Mehmet II and Suleiman are and how they differ. And this is important, since Suleiman wanted to win the same fame as Mehmet and be worthy of his great ancestor.
One hopes that the project will be unfreezed and continued, I am an optimist, but the chance is quite small. And so the tiny piece that was removed, it is interesting to see, all the decisions of the sultan are justified, he learns patience, tame his emotionality and temperament. And the ratings, yeah, they rule the ball. Unfortunately.
