She teased GG even before it became mainstream. Cute, comedic and to a certain extent melodramatic series, singing the idea 'loving bully'. Although 'bully' the element in this anime is quite soft and certainly not as mockingly trollish as in the paths trodden by Takagi Nagatoro, Uzaki and others.
Started relatively recently, the anime adaptation of the school romcom manga 'Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san' has already been able to score three full seasons of the anime adaptation, Ova and the final (?) all this feature film, which have become a real classic and genre-defining show for school romantic comedy. Takagi was not the first or one of the first anime in the genre. Nor was it one of the defining laws. But once on our screens, it was able to be so loved by the audience and turn it into money for the wallets of its creators, which actually determined the main trends for its genre for the coming years.
Popularized by Takagi principles were quickly adopted by other writers and anime studios, resulting in the so-called "' shabby' trend in anime romance." Since simply copying our show would be rather silly and too boring, the following anime just started to play with the setting, the archetypes and of course, the teasing. Uzaki made the idea more youthful and placed it in uni, Ayumu changed roles from the same author and made teasing unconscious, Nagato turned the main character into a natural bully of an abuser, etc.
The already mentioned dynamics between Takagi and Nishikata, the so-called 'loving bully', or ' the bully in love', turned out to be incredibly popular, as it not only resembles a situation from childhood when we tried to joke or cling to our crash, in an attempt to attract her / his attention, and teases (pun intended) the popular fantasy that a beautiful girl herself takes the initiative and flirts with us.
The author of the manga and the studio that animated it perfectly understand this, so at some point or even from the very beginning, the story becomes very rehearsal, up to the submission of each chapter or episode of the anime to a strict formula. Takagi skillfully provokes our protagonist, he somehow tries to beat her in a panic, but in the end it is only funny failite. And so from time to time, because of which each episode of the anime includes 2-3 chapters of the original manga, interspersed with an adaptation of the spin-off manga about the funny adventures of three classmates of our heroes or stories from the lives of others ' ships ' in their class.
That, along with the incredibly homely and cute atmosphere and directing, saves Takagi from becoming something of a soulless sitcom. This is an anime called 'wholesome' for all the best reasons, except that it has long been the scourge of all anime romantic comedies. There is absolutely no eroticism (all female characters are quite realistic and devoid of any sexualization), stupid gegs and harems for the sake of harems. All the melodrama in the show is built exclusively on the near-realistic children’s everyday worries instead of some theatrical love triangles or buffoonery situations.
Helps the case and a peculiar 'Takagivers', which includes not only friendly or romantic drinking classmates of our characters, but even a story about their lives in the future. I won’t spoil anything, just say that the author carefully follows the lives of all his characters and does not forget about the existence of side characters, even when Nishikata and Takagi become adults.
It should also be noted that Takagi Nishikata’s teasing never crosses the line and turns into an outright gloom like Nagatoro or a mockery like Uzaki. Nishikato still sees a lot of this as a challenge, but it's more like a childish prank than some kind of harassment or bullying.
In general, if you like the idea of a teasing boy she likes, a cunning girl, playful teenage romance or even just the easiest romantic comedy, then I can recommend this anime with the purest possible heart. Including if you want to see what all the noise-gam and where all this fashion on the anime romcoma with teasing GG girls tricksters came from.
