Who are the judges in this cruel world? Veera Bhoga is the angel of death.
Unusual movie. Not just for Indian cinema. An almanac where several stories intertwine and eventually merge. Crime stories. The film is so complicated that I understood it in general, but something is not quite. Because the authors have so much confused the solution of the plot that even an attentive glance is unable to understand the details from the first time. In general, I have already written about it.
The color of the movie is present: these are stupid policemen, and brutal furry bandits, and live grimaces of secondary characters, and faceless female images. But at the same time, there are entire storylines shot in the Western style: dynamic and spectacular. Gradation that in the stories of the novels, that in the manner of shooting goes on increasing, as it should be in the detective thriller.
A few years ago, an orphan girl from a shelter disappeared in the market. The children’s guardians – a doctor and his wife – try to look for her, go to the police, where they are denied help. But the private detective zealously takes up the case and even goes on the trail of the kidnappers. The doctor brings up a child prodigy son, smart and brave.
A few years later, in the same city, a teenager turns to the police, who lost his home and adoptive parents. The police, led by an active inspector, begins a search, but faces only mysteries. Suddenly, the inspector’s father, also a former police officer, commits suicide after receiving a mysterious message on the phone.
And finally, these days, an Indian passenger plane suddenly disappears from radar. A mysterious kidnapper who calls himself the “Angel of Death” makes an incredible demand with the investigation team: to execute several hundred criminals across the country without trial, then he will release the passengers.
Gradation is evident: from the scale of the crime to the efforts of the police. The novels do not go separately, but in parts, intertwining with each other, the episodes alternate, passing imperceptibly from one storyline to another, which I was confused, not realizing what time I was watching now. In addition, about 3 time layers became clear only to the final. Like the 3 main characters. Mystery, so to speak...
The film is both simple when you look to the end and complex in perception. As I have already written, it takes patience and attention to look and understand everything, because during the viewing nothing is clear. In addition, I did not quite like some of the dialogues, they seemed both abstruse and empty. Of course, there is no need to shoot and watch stupid films, but very mysterious is also not easy.
To the question of acting: it is normal. This means that no one has cut their eyes with special mediocrity or superheroism. Everyone plays normally, I hardly remember anyone. The main character - the Angel of Death - plays in no way, I will see yet - I will not know. But as for the role of police inspector with a rare name for India Vijay Kumar, then playing him Sudhir Babu I liked, because very charming.
The ideas of the film are controversial, as in many good films. Where are the boundaries of justice and justice? Is it permissible for the sake of justice to break the law and become a criminal? Who are the judges in this cruel world?
I recommend the film to those who like to solve mysteries in art. Those who are willing to watch the movie for the sake of understanding.
