The film was hooked by the fact that it is about people living in the here and now, without fantasies on the theme “who will I be tomorrow”. They only have today for one reason or another and they use it to the maximum, with maximum exhaust. They test the world for strength, and it beats their answer. This is how our heroes respond with a blow to the blow. In the conditions of hopeless cities, this is probably especially noticeable when people have to survive every day, gnaw their teeth, look for ways to earn, perhaps not quite legal even money.
Some story threads. Each has a distinct dramaturgy. Kira is a disabled girl who suffered an accident and believes she will walk again. Boxer-gopnik Andriukha, the prototype of Mohammed Ali: “Float like a butterfly, pity like a bee”, wants to achieve certain heights in combat sports and earn money on it. Roma (actor Yuri Borisov), a local fool, but the Buddha may be. Barkas (Vladimir Daraganov), a relaxing kid, the owner of a fight club, but he has goals, even though they are blurry. The gypsy, but not Sira, but rather Tina, adheres to high goals, but these usually hold on to a strong character, and then cut their veins in the bathroom. It clings very much that the heroes of Alexander Strelyanaya did not embellish. They are what they are. Not bad, not good. They are people who live by their own rules. A bit harsh presentation of images of heroes, but this is done correctly, the viewer sometimes has to reach, hammering him imperceptible dramatic nails to his head, so that he got away from the film, failed. I don’t know how this movie got me wrong, and sometimes I get sick of it. I live in a poor city without prospects, in the film, so to speak, my theme. Where people in factories can earn anything for a piece of bread.
The music in the film is viscous, with low basses, but it is such a depressing presentation that allows the atmosphericity of such films to highlight. Music of the Five.

Light and darkness, male and female, blood and earth, water and air, strength and hatred, love and passion – the film consists of a Scandinavian ornament of completely chthonic phenomena. The heroes of street fights and underground fights without rules speak poetic language, the chain of criminal events turns into an epic like Elder Edda:

Unfortunately, an impressive trailer at first glance gives very deceptive hopes, since the film itself was not as exciting as we would like. For all the beauty of the production and bright acting work in the film, there are a lot of philosophical digressions and “water”, including an overly prolonged bundle. The incessant walk through the agony of some heroes literally exhaust the viewer with their senselessness, while depriving everyone of the necessary action. Endless dialogues about the eternal frankly spoil the history and cause some dissonance, where you seem to watch the usual genre crime and sports drama, and meanwhile, incomprehensible arthouse retreats in the form of emotionless monologues about nothing slip through.
At first, the plot is a bit reminiscent of the recent film “On the District” with Danila Kozlovsky, where two friends, trying to make themselves known, enter the criminal path. And here is almost the same, but as a result of the circumstances, the main character falls in love with a young girl with disabilities. And that's where the fun starts. It is this part of the plot development that causes great interest and attention, as a real drama unfolds, where the guy falls in love for the first time, the girl has an interest in life, and meanwhile the father of the young person is categorically against such relationships, since he does not believe in the sincerity of the young man. It is very strange why the author did not develop this story to the proper extent, giving it only a few episodes that do not give the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the dramaturgy of complex relationships, the more approved actors look perfectly and harmonize with each other. But instead, the director focuses on absolutely uninteresting characters, while not revealing almost any of the characters of the film, especially the antagonists. Although the girl’s father is respected, he remained a dark horse until the end, not to mention the main character, about whom almost nothing is really known. It is a pity that the authors of the picture, chasing a beautiful picture and philosophical reflections on the meaning of life, missed a really interesting story about love and friendly relationships.
And yet, with obvious scenario flaws, slow plot development and constant idleness in the film, the actor’s ensemble perfectly interacts, creating a real chemistry of close interweaving of versatile characters on the tap. Absolutely competent choice fell on Yura Borisov, who once again confirms his incredible talent of reincarnation, where even without makeup it is almost impossible to recognize him. He literally mixed two curious images in himself: one of his own from the film “Crystal”, where Yura played an extremely eccentric guy in funny clothes and a famous Internet character who goes in the video to the music of Hans Zimmer and talks about the immortality of his soul in the darkness of the milky path of centuries-old suffering. Also, the young actress Maria Borovicheva was particularly impressed, who, although there was very little in the film, but even at this stage we can safely say that the girl is very talented, charismatic, bright and multifaceted. Of course, the main character Lev Semashkov also caused exceptionally positive emotions, but the limitations in the script did not allow him to reveal his full potential.
In general, whether to watch it is a very controversial issue, but if you are an ardent fan of Russian cinema, then you should definitely familiarize yourself with the film to appreciate all the advantages and advantages of this picture. Have a good time.
Russian cinema is in a terrible situation, everyone knows this and for no one it is not news, and it is not a secret, most of the funding received paintings with very strange plots and scripts and this work is no exception. Of course, there are also questions about its content.
When viewed as a separate work, it certainly turned out to be bad; caricatured characters, strange dialogues, inexplicable deeds and plot twists are all there, a complete set. But still, if you put it on the shelf with the rest of the Russian films, after watching this particular film, there is no sense of negativity, anger and aggression, as occurs after watching many other Russian (and not only Russian) films, below I will try to explain my point of view, why my review is “neutral”, and not “negative”.
As well as the scripts of other Russian films, this script was written not by the most talented person, but unlike others, I want to note how in this film it is noticeable that the screenwriter may not have talent, but still tried very hard to write a good script, the same applies to other important components, the authors tried hard on the visual, nicely built frames, in the film, really, very nice picture, very nicely selected color, light and composition. Also, the film is pleasantly selected music, it is not outstanding, but still does not strain the ear (and this despite the presence of compositions of the Caspian Cargo), in the scenes on the streets plays a rapper from the boy’s citations, and in the scenes in the bar plays good club music, which is very well in harmony with the visual.
I, who watched a sufficient number of frankly bad films, could not ignore the efforts of the authors in the work on the film. The result was a very naive film about love, gangster youth and showdowns, but, again, the film does not cause disgust, despite the absurd ending. After watching it, there is a feeling that this film was directed by your son, I do not want to scold him, just wanting to pat him on the shoulder and say “well, okay, next time it will be better.”
Of course, I do not call on you to put high marks, just for this film rather should be blamed not the team that worked on the creation of the film, but specifically those who allocate funds for such films.

The film interested in its theme, love against the background of infusion into the criminal world. Actually, what I expected, I got. This is a medium-handed drama, quite simple in awareness, but it carries a rather deep meaning.
When you have a goal, you can move mountains and do the right thing. When you are pressured by close people, even if it will be a friend whom you do not really know, whom you recently met, but he is trying with incredible force to drag you into a new world in which money rules everything, in which it is impossible not to get your hands dirty and you have to do what you are told. The main thing in such situations is to remember that You and only You the ruler of your fate, and only you should make decisions regarding the future life, especially when you have the person who is dear to you and for whom you are ready to give up all your affairs.
Man is a fighter in life, and in this film this fact still takes place in the literal sense of the word. All I wanted before was to show my strength, my ability, and at the same time earn money to get out of the swamp in which life dragged you. When she comes, that bright and irresistible love, you realize how stupid and wrong you were, money is not the most important thing, and the place where you are is not such a swamp. Love changes our worldview by showing you what you really are worth. The main thing in such cases is not to listen to your inner self, which can be interpreted as the same unfamiliar comrade who is trying to drag himself into this illegal world.
This drama philosophizes a lot about the severity of life and its other aspects. Heroes constantly speak in verse, showing their rich inner world. It looks, however, it is not very convincing, sometimes it seems like a rehearsal of some kind, before this or that philosophical text was poorly executed. The criminal component in this tape is brutal, although it largely depends on the actions of the lady, the leader of the fight club. She seems to need nothing, in her opinion, “it is made of dust”, but when circumstances force, she has to get what she needs with blood. At the same time, she just needs to punish herself for what she did, exposing her face to blows.
The creators of this tape tried to squeeze out of the ordinary script a deep drama, a kind of parable, but it turned out average. no, it looks good and entertaining, but I think that the authors of the film wanted more. In addition, quite serious actors take part in the film, such as Yuri Borisov, who recently has too many on the screens, Rosa Khairullina in a cameo role, the same grandmother Grisha from the TV series “Olga”, as well as Alexei Guskov in the supporting role, but having played the best of all, however, he does not have the talent, he has such a movie baggage behind his back that many did not dream about. Plus, small roles were performed by quite noticeable people on television screens Timofey Tribuntsev, Mikhail Evlanov, Kirill Polukhin. The main roles were performed by completely unfamiliar Lev Semashkov and Irina Vilkova, who did not always look convincing, but you can not exactly call their performance a failure.
If you’re a fan of Russian crime dramas, you might like the movie.
