"Fahrenheit 11/9" - action-packed documentary detective will definitely appeal to all fans of the work of the famous activist and director Michael Moore. The film runs for two hours, but it looks on one breath. Most of the film is a simple and at the same time terrifying statement of facts from modern American life, but closer to the end, the author takes a tougher position and literally goes against the current government.
Predictably, the film focuses on the election, Donald Trump and his ambitions to lead the country for years to come. The film details the genocide of its own people in the state of Michigan, where its residents, who have the largest reserves of fresh water in the country, pay the most for water. The viewer will be told how one of the richest states became almost the poorest and sick population. In addition to the socio-economic horrors, the author pays considerable attention to political elections, where he carefully analyzes the facts of interference in elections. But here it is worth clarifying that the main culprits, according to the director, were not the Russian special services, but the Democrats themselves, who, to support Hilary, betrayed one of the presidential candidates Bernie Sanders, thereby turning away potential voters. Also, the director will show a monstrous betrayal by then-President Obama, who turned away from himself and from all the Democrats of ordinary people. In fact, Michael Moore claims that the Democrats with their own hands and vile actions gave Trump the victory.
In addition to the election, you will find monstrous stories about teachers who live below the subsistence minimum in West Virginia, where they have to receive groceries on cards. And this is in the 21st century in one of the richest countries in the world! You will find episodes with numerous strikes of teachers and educators who, united, took to the streets and forced the authorities to listen to them. The Paris events in 2016 were active in the United States, where ordinary people also achieved their goals in nine days and now continue to strive for others.
The film also tells about the terrible events at the school, where one of the students shot his classmates. Authorities claimed it had nothing to do with politics, but the teenagers thought otherwise. We will be shown how ordinary children through social networks and without the participation of adults organized the largest march in the country and forced the current government to finally act. On the lips of people very often sounded the word revolution, which in their understanding does not mean destruction, but, on the contrary, demanding change. For the first time in a long time, young people are finally beginning to show their civic stance and express their attitude towards the corrupt government. And meanwhile, the government itself organizes, like a temporary Rosgvardiya and, together with heavy equipment, drives them to the cities, in order to destroy all dissenters under the guise of exercises at the first call.
But much of the narrative, of course, is about Donald Trump and his ambitions, desires and aspirations for absolute power. The author of the picture lists his various subsequent actions, where it becomes clear to us that he is following exactly the same course that Vladimir Putin has already passed, where all power is concentrated in one hand. We see how Trump very skillfully discredits the media, intelligence agencies, various organizations and hotel personalities, so that in the eyes of the people he remains the only savior, hope and support, and for officials, in addition to his friends, a terrible devil in the flesh. The film will show how Trump in a short time freely promoted absolutely all of his “anointed” in the career ladder in the most important structures of power, managing even some justices of the peace to approve for life.
I would not be surprised if some viewers see in the events of the film a certain parallel with our country, since the similarity, of course, is not small. But it is worth warning that the author ultimately compares this model of autocracy with German Germany of the 30-40s, where Adolf Hitler eventually unleashed the most terrible war in history. It’s up to you to watch or not, of course, but if you do, be prepared for serious footage, heartbreaking human stories, and an exciting truth that also affects each of us. Accepted viewing.
