A story about twenty students who go on a summer internship. They wake up on a cold bus parked outside a gloomy hotel. Students are dressed as servants and given instructions on what to do. Disheartened youngsters are reluctant to carry out errands, gradually realizing that strange events are happening here. . .
Immediately I would like to note that we have a “cinema not for everyone” with a meditative narrative. The film was directed and staged by twenty students of a Polish theatre school. The guys put all their emotions, thoughts and ideas into the film that seemed relevant to them at the time. Therefore, a thriller with a high concentration of art house, which, however, is completely justified, since the end of the tape will explain why everything happened in this way.
Students conduct everyday dialogues, philosophize a little, open the soul and their inner secrets, turning the gut out, where hostility, lust, hypocrisy and shame reign. In addition, the picture is full of surreal scenes, undisguised absurdity and pressing heated atmosphere.
Such a spectacle will not be to everyone’s taste, but the final scene of the group “coven” is definitely worth attention and will remain in memory, and thanks to the skillful and unexpected denouement, it may provoke you to review some scenes once again.
Moral: this is how you go to a summer student camp to relax and have fun, and as a result sew for sale sandals in a stuffy basement.
As a result, if you do not faint from the word arthouse, then it is definitely worth watching this Polish experiment.
