I am in the mood to dissolve in the sky As in the world of light and darkness, so revelations and lies closely coexist in this narrative, skillfully exposing the facets of the previously unknown. The picture is atmospheric, dramatic and can cause emotional shocks.
Exciting, far from sentimentality and naivety, the action unfolds around four women living in an elite residential complex “SKY Castle”. The powerful Han Seo Jin enters into a psychological battle with tutor Kim. The brave Lee Su Im decides to write a book about the difficulties and stresses that young people face every year when entering university. But Seung Hye dares to confront an ambitious husband obsessed with the idea of climbing to the top of the social pyramid with the help of children. Eccentric Jean Hee plans to succeed in raising her only son. The narrative attracts attention from the first minutes, but the more you look into this abyss, the more clearly you experience a state of anxiety and horror.
Even more depressing is the strong image of the heroine Kim Seo-hyun. The actress did a filigree work on the facial expressions of the tutor, the methods of which expose human vices, which often leads to tragedies. Kim Joo-yeon’s soul is the center of hell, and behind every decision is an escape from the present that hurts her from within. The opening milestones of the biography of this woman are shocking.
Kim Bo Ra, who played the role of one of the best students of Sheen High School, also leaves her mark in memory. Little adult Kim Hye Na does not give in to any difficulties and tries to survive in our cruel world. To start crying, it is enough to recall her words: “It is terrible that there is no money.” It's scary not to be home. It is terrible that there is no mother.” Some people, in order to understand someone else’s heart, need to break it, so instead of saving the girl expects a lot of grief.
Thus, the plot takes viewers into a dramatic whirlwind of emotions and feelings of the characters. Stylish, filled plans dispose to contemplation and focus on the main thing. One of the episodes demonstrates the desperation of Han Seo Jin: she with a feeling throws a pearl necklace on the floor, from which the jewelry begins to crumble in a chaotic order, like the life of the main character. This is shown with such love, caress of halftones and fascinating play of light shade that a seemingly simple frame acquires a powerful philosophical coloration. In addition, the action is always accompanied by a beautiful soundtrack, among which the track Ha Jin "We All Lie" stands out.
As we move to the finale, the picture increasingly forces us to reflect on the eternal question of the meaning of life. The edification demonstrates how the achievements of the heroes dim before the unbearable consequences of the choice made, and flowers of love, nobility and self-sacrifice begin to bloom in their hearts.
It is noteworthy that the first edition of the book "Goodbye, Heavenly Castle" is not in demand, and then No Seung Hye cheers Lee Su Im with the words: "The worse the beginning, the better the end." This is a reference to the drama itself, which, due to the lack of an advertising campaign, began broadcasting with an indicator of 1.7% of the viewer rating, but ended with a record 23.8%, conquering a multi-million audience.
The only disappointment is the final, which, firstly, looks rather ordinary against the general background, and secondly, carries an extremely dubious message to quit training. However, it finally reveals the relationship of my beloved couple, tutor Kim and teacher Cho. The final episode on the bus, when Cho Tae-jun stares at Kim Joo-yeon, and then smiles slightly at her, leaves the most vivid memory.
