Sleeping Beauty – Leningrad TV, 90s A charming hour-long television show based on the fairy tale of Charles Perrault undertaken in difficult years for our country, from the 90s mini-budget, poverty of costumes and furnishings, but otherwise very worthy of viewing and young viewers and their parents. Director Valery Obogrelov slightly remade the plot, bringing a fantasy component, but the general courtly spirit of Perrault’s fairy tale is present. In general, Obogrelov is a big fan of fiction, so it is the supernatural characters that are given special attention. The fairies were reduced to three good and one evil. If other actors wear dress-gathering suits from other productions and wigs, then fairies have quite decent dresses, makeup, and high intricate headdresses, such man-made Ennen. The image of the dark fairy Garfona performed by Tatiana Piletskaya was especially successful; careful villainous makeup, funny hairstyle with Mickey Mouse ears, hoodie, gloves with rings - everything is black, black, black. Garfona is vindictive and very strong, three fairies can resist her only by joining forces. Images of good fairies are also worked out and not only outwardly, characters are outlined in their light chatter: the Elder Golden-Peach Lyumina (Lydia Melnikova) likes to maintain traditions and slightly distance herself from human affairs, the Middle Silver-Gray Valvona (Marina Yakovleva) is a little prim and a little warlike, the Junior White-Pink Orlana (Anna Tabanina) is young and direct, such a fairy-common. All actors play well, including debutante Marina Pupenina (Alexandrova) in the role of Sleeping Beauty, Marina is now a famous face, and then just a young relaxed and smiling girl. I want to note the successful music of Sergei Ponomarev, but especially liked the work of the masters who put lighting, in many ways their art transforms simple interiors, creates a fabulous mood.
