I love this series. In short: a good series.
In fact, it is a shame that the series is not translated into Russian and we do not know it at all. The series is definitely not worse than European / American TV series. There is an aesthetic, an atmosphere, a general sense of quality.
The series is based on stories about the work of lawyers, and at the same time rapprochement between the main characters. Doesn't sound super-original, does it? But to be honest, TV shows don’t always have to be original. The main thing is how it is played and filmed.
More than a detective story, I love the interaction of the main characters, and I will talk about it.
The main character Hilka (played by the incomparable Magdalena Cheletskaya) is a successful and expensive lawyer, known for not losing a single case. Hilka is a beautiful, strong, successful woman, but at the same time she often pushes people away, it is difficult to get close to her. Next to her appears a young trainee Zordon - radiant sunshine and the most comfortable man in the universe (imagine Dima Dubin, a couple of years older and more confident).
It turns out that one partner (Hilka) is cold and repulsive, and the other continues to be comfortable and friendly. There is almost no romance, all the interaction between the main characters is based on mutual hamstrings and the joint solution of detective riddles. And as usual, this is why I want to see heroes together.
It looks something like this:
Morning. Hilka with inflamed eyes after a sleepless night continues to work on the computer, in the hands of an electronic cigarette.
Zordon * sleepy and content*: I usually run in the morning, you want to come with me? Sometimes there are interesting thoughts while running!
Hilka *arrogant*: Running is humiliating.
Subjectively, I consider such dialogues and scenes simply beautiful.
Another psychological line running through the series is Hilki’s relationship with her alcoholic father and her own alcoholism. This painful tangle of childhood injuries and resentments, anger at a loved one, self-hatred, fear of vulnerability - all this supports the mechanism of Hilki's own addiction.
The fact that the series raises such problems is just fine. But there's another moment. A similar story is in the biography of the actress, Magdalena Cheletskaya: her father had an alcohol addiction. Maybe that's part of why the scenes with my dad are so poignant.
The legal cases that Hilk handles (one case per season) are also family matters, they deal with the relationship of spouses, parents and children. In the first season, parents are accused of murdering their daughter. In the second case, a young man is accused of murdering his parents. These stories become almost detective stories, because we do not fully know the whole truth.
In general, it is difficult to evaluate the series objectively, but it is definitely 4 or 5. For fans of the series, I would recommend it. Of course, those who like to watch foreign TV series with English subtitles. I give him a sincere subjective five.
