A breath of fresh air. I watched another Punjabi movie yesterday. I have seen about five films in total. I came across it under the name "Girls", under which name it was recorded for viewing, but the original name consists of two words, and only on one site, I saw it under the name Unexpected meeting, and thought that this is closer to the truth.
I don’t know anyone, I’ve seen them all for the first time. Gurnam Bhular, Sonam Bajwa, Tanya, Nirmal Rishi - all these names have never been heard before
There is no description here as always, so I will briefly talk about it. Two sisters, Kashmir (Kash) and Nicole (Niki) live in Canada. They were born and raised there. Their mother, from Punjab, once fell in love with a foreigner from Canada, and fled with him against the wishes of her parents. Naturally, those who did not forgive her for this, and since then have not communicated at all. After 10 years, the parents of the girls divorced, the father married a Canadian for the second time, and since then Kash lived in the family of her father, and Niki stayed with her mother. And now, years have passed, the girls are already adults, about 23 years old, and about 19 years old, and one day they receive a letter from the Punjab, in which the mother’s relatives ask her to come to her native village to celebrate the birth of another child in the family. The mother herself is afraid to go there, not to stumble upon the curse of her parents again, and therefore sends her daughters to the Punjab. Girls come to India and their adventures begin.
The characters were very liked, especially Amrik, the guy who met them at the airport, took them to their village and all the days of stay in India, accompanied them everywhere by car.
Amrik (Gurnam Bhular) is a very kind guy of the age of 23-25, honest, decent, a little naive and trusting, very responsive and shy, never loses heart. His father and uncle consider him a dummy and an idiot, because he brings almost no money to the family because of his honesty and naivety. Therefore, Amrik works as a driver (something like a “bomber” of a privateer) on a family car. He meets people at the airport and takes them all over the state, on the way he tells visitors about all the charms and beauties of the Punjab. I liked this actor, very cute, something reminiscent of Sushant Singh Rajput, especially his eyes and smile.
The older sister Kash (Sonam Bajva) is a very hot-tempered, emotional, a bit rude, likes to drink strong alcohol, can yell at someone, swear, use a strong word in speech. He wears a tracksuit and sneakers, short tops, showing everyone his stomach and back, on which several tattoos are applied. In general, a fire girl with a very difficult character, but at the same time kind and responsive to someone else's trouble. And of course, she immediately liked the quiet Amric. I also liked the actress herself, although her lips are pumped up, but her eyes are very kind, and she is quite beautiful.
The younger Nicole (Tanya) on the contrary, a quiet, calm girl, very correct, loves her older sister and tries to obey her in everything. She is kind, loves animals, especially dogs, tries to help everyone who needs help. Anyway, angel girl. She immediately fell to the heart of Amrik. Tanyu, as an actress I can not appreciate from the first role (like the others), but very sweet, natural, and also beautiful.
But, Destiny, as you know, everything has long been decided, and who will be happy with whom, who is intended for whom, who will stay with whom, all this is gradually revealed in the course of the film. And of course you have to watch it.
They've got a family. As always, Sikh families are full of people - 3 uncles (brothers of girls' mothers), their wives, children, grandchildren; one aunt (mother's sister), her husband, children, grandchildren; and grandmother (mother of girls' mothers), the head of the family. They all live together, in the same house, in a crowd. Everyone is trying to do something for the girls so that they can go abroad. The wife of one of her uncles immediately invited her nephew (the son of her brother) to like one of her sisters, marry her and go to live in Canada.
In general, everyone is looking for their benefit in the arrival of girls to meet their family. And only Amrik is not looking for anything, he just secretly hopes that Nicholas will respond to his feelings, and dreams of marrying her. But not to go to Canada, but because he likes it very much.
The grandmother of the girls ("Nirmal Rishi"), an old woman is very grumpy, uncomfortable, constantly curses everyone, scolds, lives in a separate room isolated from her family. Girls immediately understand that Grandma is so evil for a reason, and imbue her with tenderness and kindness, especially Porridge. The girls came not only to get acquainted with the family, but also to see the country, so they visit museums, temples, go shopping and salons, everywhere accompanied by Amrika, who is happy just that he can carry them everywhere in his car.
And so they take their grandmother with them on one of these trips for a whole week, show her another, modern life, beauty salons, huge shopping centers, a luxury hotel, escalators and much more. And then they come to visit the grandmother’s brother, whom she has not seen since the day of her marriage, and get acquainted with his family. And my grandmother, thanks to her granddaughters, is transformed, good in front of her eyes, and even getting younger. After all, in fact, she is not yet a decrepit old woman, as her own sons and daughters-in-law made her, locked in a separate room.
The film is wonderful, very kind and touching, like all the Punjabi films I have seen before. There are no villains, no fights, no intrigues, everything goes smoothly, measured. Songs are very beautiful, lyrical, kind
In general, a film about family and family relations, about love and forgiveness, about how native places help to find themselves, and their true purpose in life. And someone will decide to stay forever in the Punjab, because he found his happiness here.
The film is very suitable for family viewing, many useful things can be taken from it and understand the value of family relationships. Anyway, look. There’s a lot to laugh about.
