Anime, the basis of which is rebirth in another world, have long become an integral part of Japanese animation, one can even say that they have become its hallmark. Of course, most of them can boast nothing but their belonging. “On my rebirth...” is a typical representative, but on viewing I can say that this is a semi-typical representative who takes both good and not very.
The plot begins naturally with an ordinary Japanese employee (well, not a schoolboy), whom a colleague, living out his last bachelor days, invited to a cafe. But here’s the bad luck – through the crowd an unknown bandit with a knife and not wanting to save his comrade from marriage, our Satoru Mikami, according to all the laws of the genre, is mortally wounded and in death agony, hearing an unknown voice that gives him insensitivity to temperatures and electricity, asks his colleague to drown the hard drive from the PC, because our 37-year-old Satoru is still a virgin.
With the earthly life is finished and therefore there is a chance for rebirth in another world. There is a rebirth, only our hero now appears in the form of ... slime - the most innocuous and weakest monster in the new world, but thanks to a kind of thought-helper the Great Sage, the slime quickly masters the unknown and even meets a sealed dragon, which without much effort absorbs in the hope that one day it will release him. And after such minor events (every day such) our mucus protects the settlement of goblins from wolves, each of them names and falls into suspended animation for 3 days. Upon awakening yesterday, frail goblins turn into rocks, and semi-intelligent wolves into devoted beasts. Then the journey for the masters-yards, the release of the girl from the heavy burden, the meeting with strong ogres, man-lizards, orcs and God knows who. Our now in this world Rimuru decides – on the site of the settlement of goblins to establish a country for all these unlike monsters and live in high.
The main character of Rimuru is a typical hero isekai, who from the 0th level rises into the protagonist, who becomes a formidable force, which cannot be ignored in any way. But what can be recorded in the pluses, this is at least the image of the hero (we saw a little reborn in slime), and this is the real age of Mikami, which gives him a sober and reasonable mind. It’s a good idea to give Glavhero a kind of mental Ai, which replaces the modern Internet and supercomputer in a fantasy medieval world. In addition, the hero develops and becomes stronger not in the name of something loud and grandiose, but to develop his country and make it just comfortable.
Characters added to the retinue of Rimuru, occupy a decent screen time, which is enough to reveal and understand their motives, actions, preferences and attachments.
In my opinion, the map of the world and the nations inhabiting it has been well worked out. Yes, everything here is according to the classics of yards, orcs, people, but I cannot say that it is worn out and bland again due to well-written characters. Locations are not to say that they amaze with their many and unusual, but they look to become and organically complement the style and personality of the ruler, lifestyle and direction of politics.
Here’s what we can attribute to the controversial point, are the antagonists. Here they are very exaggerated and look through the prism of clichéd images. The King of Falmus is a greedy and greedy person who sees only material gain in the destruction of the Magwere kingdom. Prince of Darkness Kleiman is another pawn who just wants strength for strength. Their “chewing” took as much as two seasons, a mess like me. But Hinatu Sakaguchi and the boy-traitor in a neutral city were given one episode and 10 minutes of screen time. I hope for a breakthrough in relation to these characters in the beginning of the broadcast of the 3rd season.
Seasons 1 and 2 are good in their own way. If 1 tells about Rimur and his retinue and is filled with kind and positive notes like forgiveness, accepting the present without looking at the past and overcoming difficulties, but it seems a little protracted at first. But 2 is the quintessence of undercover intrigues, strong shadowy personalities with incomprehensible but interesting motives, becoming Rimuru from a pacifist to a real, tough leader.
About animation - it is normal, neither give nor take, in its place. Openings and endings are pleasant, corresponding to the tone of a particular arch or season. For me, a good balance between seriousness and humor, the vagaries of the characters.
As a result, a pleasant anime title with well-written characters, their constant and regular maturation, a pleasant plot that does not slide into some very cliched attributes of titles of this topic. It seems to me the best way to turn it on in the evening and distract from the daily routine.
The anime series “About my degeneration into mucus” tells about the adventures of a resident of Japan, who in his new life became slime. And so, literally from the diaper, our hero Rimuro begins to learn to control his new body and use the acquired abilities.
The anime series from the first series sets in a positive way. Our main character is doing well. Even in the first series, he became friends with the greatest dragon Wildora, whom he encountered in the cave where he was reborn.
The atmosphere of the series breathes kindness and positive. Rimuro gives all his followers a middle name, thereby recording them in his family. According to the plot of the anime series, giving the name to the Magzwehr, the latter is developing, depending on the strength of the one who gave it its name. Therefore, all of Rimuro’s associates go through stages of evolution throughout the series, as our little friend is constantly growing in strength.
Rimuro will not give his family offense, and he manages to conclude profitable alliances with several kingdoms, and even with one lord of demons.
The anime series will appeal to those who want to just relax and watch the carefree development of the whole kingdom led by blue slime, which has reached the level of God.
10 out of 10
The series for 1 time, but I recommend it to watch those who are looking for gum for the brain after work or study, or have not watched other representatives of this genre. I would rather watch the second season than not.
The protagonist moved to another world with a full set of all unconsciously expressed desires on the threshold of death: invulnerability to the elements, insensitivity to pain, built-in Wikipedia with the ability to craft and, most importantly, the ability to absorb other creatures and their abilities. In general, a fierce imba without any consequences, cons and limitations.
Pros of the series:
Characters are short-sighted, but generally sane, do not do absolutely complete nonsense at the behest of the left heel. Feispalm is not threatened.
Characters can be described in one or two words, but they are.
Development of abilities and their combination. This is probably the most interesting part of the series.
-City development.
The downsides are much more, but you can live with them:
Almost all the disadvantages are a consequence of the fact that the world is poorly thought out and spelled out.
Kindergarten-level diplomacy.
- GG helps everyone around him just out of boredom, he does not lose anything and does not risk anything. Although he evacuates residents for the most part, he sees battles as entertainment outweighing possible casualties. The most striking example is Charybdid. By an incredible coincidence, no one was injured, but would an adequate commander refuse gratuitous assistance in a battle with a superior enemy?
Strong entities of the world are involved in adventures also out of boredom, a vivid example - Veldor, Milim, Black.
- The world is cardboard. The most striking example is the orcs. Hundreds of thousands of Orcs starved to death, and then suddenly there was food and a place to live in the forest. Orcs were the only force in the first season with strong motivation.
- Humor just doesn't work. There are 3 jokes in the series that are repeated over and over again:
1) A strong entity rages like a child;
2) A strong entity is ready to do anything for the sake of tasty, manga, etc.
(3) An incredibly complacent character appears, says stupidity, gets a strong blow and loses consciousness.
- I did not get any drawing (simple backs, characters are often drawn somehow, looped animation), nor music (the second opening IMHO ok, but even I would not add it to the playlist).
The series is children's, and for some reason there is blood.
I recently watched the Ascent of the Shield Hero, which is worked out on the head above.
I could also be inattentive and mistaken, but the Predator's ability kills the target, then it absorbs all the skills and strength, then it does not absorb all the possible variations.
“TenSura” is an adaptation of a light novella, aka Ranobe, not to be confused with a web novella there are slightly different events. Ranobe in Japan in the top 5 sold or popular did not fall. It was 6th and 7th is probably still ahead. This does not negate its popularity, more precisely the current isekai current of recent years. There’s a manga that’s fine too. You and I will be looking at an anime adaptation. The plot tells about a man who got from the real world to another, fantasy. This kind of work in the anime party now a lot. Each tries to attract the attention of the viewer with its unique feature. Somewhere the main character of “Lord of Darkness”, somewhere the setting is close to realism, someone becomes an outcast of the kingdom, overcomes the thorny paths of becoming. In this case, a fairly adult hero in the new world is reborn slime and he has to develop, adapting to other realities.
Satoru Mikami, the typical corporate worker, is quite content with his monotonous lifestyle in Tokyo, except that he fails to meet the girl of his life. As a result of a robbery, trying to protect a colleague, Satoru becomes the victim of a robber. Having received a serious wound, he dies, and comes to himself with reincarnated mucus in the vastness of an unknown world. Possessing the ability to absorb and analyze, Rimuru (aka Satoru) embarks on a new journey in order to settle down and build a place where it will be comfortable not only for him, but for any living creature. As he gets used to his new form, his sticky antics will not let the viewer get bored.
There are many characters: everyone is given enough time to understand what a friend is, what his past is and what motives are on his mind. Everyone has a clear role, no one hangs out in the background. The main character is not an ordinary Japanese schoolboy, Satoru was 37 years old for a minute in the world! Maturity in decisions is quite logical in relation to age. You won’t see teenage preoccupation, crookedness, and hysterics. It is increasingly clear that the authors adapted the project to TV standards for a wide audience, and not exclusively for the seinen of the viewer, for whom the original ranobe was written. Notes of shōnen naivety, classic pathos and light fan service are present. And this is sweet, because it does not catch the eye enough to annoy as in genre products.
For the format in the 24 series, the studio should be praised, because we get a more integrated adaptation of the source, rather than a compressed 12 serial format. However, there were critics writing that the setting is boring, and the action scenes are few. I understand the indignation of lovers of heroic shōnen like Naruto or Fairy Tail. Yes, it is worth considering that we are watching the adaptation of Ranobe with the tag seinen, not the heroic fantasy shōnen manga. Do you want to see all the action? Adaptations of the ranobe are impressive in recent years, because thanks to the text format, authors can more accurately formulate characters, paint the setting, as well as detailed plot details.
Principal director of the project Kikuchi Yasuhito; in his track record there are many works, including the famous “Macross Frontier” of 2008 and the not bad “IS: Infinite Stratos”. The main character is a little-known girl Okasaki Miho, in her track record there are no outstanding works. The drawing with the animation is impressive, a real breakthrough for the studio of a kind of magnum opus, but it’s not surprising, given the technical staff 8bit has assembled. This is how we need to take a step forward, assembling the headquarters for a new project. This Japanese animation studio, created in September 2008 by former members of Satelight, was not enough stars in comparison with famous studios and no one expected such a high-quality project from them. The more pleasant that the series did not have time to end — as it was renewed for a second season.
The title has no significant criticism, which is surprising with regard to isekai anime. Most disadvantages are reduced purely to subjective opinion (“the tastes are not disputed”). When watching, there is an impression of a rich fantasy fairy tale with an entertaining character in the main roles, and not another isekai anime, although there are elements of pumping and their capital game moments. But all of them are pushed to the background, because on the first line up leisurely plot twists and turns with everyday troubles. 24 series, immersing in a journey through the classical patterns of fantasy of the world, skipped through the prism of modern technological progress, fly in the company of Rimura easily, colorfully and fervently.
TenSura is the best entertaining fantasy anime of 2018. The treasure of the isekai genre, which makes fans happy. It is not often that a work has its own charm that makes you look forward to the next episode. Read the original ranobe or a better manga in anticipation of the second season.
As has already been written, this is the topic of the Popadians, but like the Popadians themselves, this topic evolves and moves away from banalism. This is probably the second time I’ve decided to revisit the entire series, read the manga, and it’s a little different and complements in some places.
It uses a fashionable plot technique – a rapid and interesting development from scratch to the top, in fact, from a blind creature of a piece of slime to the lord and ruler of the federation, like Daenerys Targaryen from survival to the subjugation of great cities with incredible events. And also the heroic cries with the accompaniment of whining are gone in the past, when the last forces are trying to defeat the villain, here as in Overlord, slime easily and skillfully overcomes opponents, not villains, because it is not yet clear who is on which side. Only unlike Overlord, cold-blooded and scary on the outside of Momonga, our Rimuru on the outside is a cute and harmless slime - it came to the author's mind. I liked the fact that our fella is not a nerd or hikikomori, but a successful 37-year-old sempai, with a career in a large company, not offended by life or the system.
The first acquaintance with the series is boring, the first series is rewinded, because we find another boring anime. In the second series we find something interesting, and later we return to the first series. The verdict is definitely not wasted time, does not depress, everything is interesting, well done.
The topic of hitchhikers became annoying, there were too many of them in the anime industry. How many of these natives of our world have somehow been transferred to various fantasy worlds? It will be difficult to remember everyone. Here and the famous SAO, and the extremely high-quality Log Horizon, and in its own way the beautiful Kono Suba - much more. And now he's the next guy. Is there anything I can surprise you with?
Satoru is a middle-aged man living in Japan. He has a good job, but nothing interesting is happening on the personal front. And yet he was certainly not in the mood to die, but fate never asks what to do. No one expected that on this day Satoru would meet a criminal on the street who would stab our hero. We all know that the adventures of the former Japanese are just beginning. After a while, he wakes up in a cave, not knowing who he is or what he is doing. Satoru is no longer a person, he was reborn in a new world as a monster. And that monster is slime.
As it turned out, the mucus he became far from simple. He can absorb opponents, later fully adopting their appearance and abilities. Which makes him one of the most powerful creatures in the world. This, of course, does not suit the current rulers of the world. Therefore, having received a new name (Rimura) and appearance, the hero is forced to fight for his life.
Anime could become a passing, if the hero remained just a very strong person. That's enough already. But rebirth as mucus changes a lot. First of all, Rimuru comes into contact with monsters, not humans. He's a monster himself. Secondly, the protagonist does not just collect a harem around him, although it did not work out completely without this. Our unique slime begins to build a full-fledged village for its allies, in which he becomes a legitimately elected head. It should be noted that extremely rarely the viewer is shown (at least partially) the peculiarities of the functioning of the microeconomics of any settlement: the supply of wood, food, fabrics, iron – all this must be found somewhere. We understand that it is impossible to build anything without established diplomatic ties with our neighbors.
Anime can really show the viewer a couple of interesting, previously little-lit aspects of the life of a person in another world. There are enough action scenes, and well-written antagonists with their motivation and goals, and for the main storyline most of the screen time is interesting to watch. Thus, this series ranks alongside such giants as 'Log Horizon' and 'SAO'.
