It is meaningless and hopeless. Interpol is in disarray and important representatives of several states have been killed. A mysterious hacker starts a game with them and asks them to figure out who will be the next victim. The investigation leads the agents to India, where, in their opinion, lives a criminal who alludes to his genius. For the capture of an evil genius is also taken by a criminal girl who believes that the one they need is an outstanding mathematician. And indeed, there is one there, but he is just a simple teacher of mathematics, and does not attract a genius. Is that really true?
What happens to someone who has watched a lot of action movies and intellectual thrillers? And the one who not only watched them, but has a direct relationship with filmmaking? Obviously, such a person at some point will want to outdo his colleagues and shoot something outstanding. Such attempts Ajay Gnanamurti has been making since 2018, when he filmed his first action movie about a super-quirky maniac bandit ' In the last seconds'. It was a very bad shot, by the way. It turned out quite boring spectacle, with the appropriate rating. And a few years later, we overtook another of his experiments, only here the stakes were made steeper - a huge budget, extensive locations and in the main characters not someone, but Vikram himself. It is still a mystery to me why Vikram could have agreed to participate in '. He is either chasing an increase in the number of films in which he played the main role (this became 58), or he was paid no less than half the budget.
So that you do not think that I find fault in the past, I will give examples of the most fatal, in my opinion, mistakes of this film. I'll start with the story. There was an attempt to bring together several themes at once – crime, mind games, sea-scale cybercrime, mental disorder and the tragedy of love. If someone thought that this was too much, then you did not think. And this confusion pours from the screen for three (!) hours. It is difficult to determine what was the main idea of the director, because there is not even something to cling to. Each topic lives on its own. On the one hand, a high-profile killer is taking place all over the world and Interpol is looking for a genius hacker. Somehow it turns out that he is a Tamil, and a Turkish officer comes to Tamil Nadu to investigate, speaking Tamil as if he were a native (incredibly, but a fact). At the same time, the officer was completely useless, at least in the end there was no use from him. He is joined by some super smart young Tamil criminologist working on another super smart project 'Cobra'. The river flowed mathematical terms and theorems, the viewer’s ears will curl up in a tube far from the world of calculations. How this girl even ended up at the same table with an Interpol officer is a mystery. Her activity was enough only to decipher the date of birth of the alleged victim, more than her character did not even reveal her mouth. It's not Watson giving Sherlock key ideas in time. Why it was necessary in the story, I have no idea. This is about the topic of crime investigation. What was the meaning of the crimes themselves and whether they were needed at all is another question that remains unanswered.
Now we follow the direction of crime in the story. This is where the movie starts and ends. The main antagonist, this Barash (hairstyle appropriate), like there all under himself, was not afraid of anyone, and, in general, was repulsed to the full head. He had some kind of truism about business and he had nothing to do with the common cause, except to order it to the very hacker-killer-smart mercenary, who was wanted by Interpol. They did not commit any special crimes against the main character, and they met face to face only at the end. Well, he sniffed out a few men there, but it was, in general, his purely personal showdowns. I think they put him in an action script to fight someone.
This is something that is more or less explicable. As for the personality of the main character, there is a full clinic, and in a literal sense. Under what high was created this image, I want to ask. The question is addressed to all six writers, including the director. Just don't think they've got a classic genius hero with a little bit of weirdness. This man was really sick. And he behaved accordingly. The way his constant transformation from a stuttering and barely constructing phrase of a school teacher (!) into a cool genius and MMA fighter was shown was very unconvincing and absurd. Vikram also has a double role here. Double thrash, so to speak. One character is sick and the other is a questionable, vengeful, cowardly idiot. Vikram also tried to portray them as repulsive as possible, which completely devalued the attempts of writers to portray the heroic intensity of passions. I also remembered the terrible work of makeup artists in episodes with spy dressing. If you see Vikram's face go back and forth when you turn your head, then you'll have nightmares. In short, the main character made just inadequate clown.
The last thing I want to mention is the banal reason why it all started. It's love, my friends. A tragic story whose characters have sunk into oblivion. Again, it has nothing to do with hacking, gangsters or Interpol. They tried to link it with the relationship of the main character in the present, but very clumsy. Starting with the strange behavior of the heroine, who like a tick clings to a sick man, forcing him to marry himself. It smells like a perversion. It wasn't any better in the past. The guy fell in love with a girl who hit him with a car so that the poor guy threw him up to heaven. By the end, they decided to play a drama against the background of feelings, but they did not succeed here either.
It is expected that with such shortcomings, the film failed at the box office, not recouping half of the budget. Wasted three hours of the lives of the audience and several years of everyone who worked on this tape. I honestly tried to find something positive in the film, and finally settled on the music of A.R. Rahman. But, unfortunately, this did not affect the overall negative impression. I will not recommend a review for lack of any reason. Just wish everyone a good mood and bravely pass by.
