The plot of the film is driven by the murder of an unarmed black teenager by a police officer, which caused a great public outcry. About a year has passed, but the boy’s father, Lincoln, is still experiencing both the loss of his son and the injustice of his son’s killer. Lincoln decides to take justice into his own hands and takes an entire police station hostage. Obviously, the film was shot in the pre-Floyd era, so the police behave quite Borzo and with great difficulty kneel in front of blacks.
Lincoln's justice reveals the permissiveness of the police, systemic racism, social stratification and other ulcers of the United States, but it is more about the moral side of letting the killer know how you feel after his crime, to help that person not just admit guilt, but feel it.
