What has attracted her to you? my youth... What attracted you to her? This mansion! (sic) . Gulabo swears ... Sitabo swears. . . )
Director Shujit Sirkar differs from his vision of the world and is generally different from other Bollywood directors. I don’t know if it’s for better or worse, but ALL of his films that I’ve seen are non-standard, touching on any social issue and don’t fit into the framework of classical Indian cinema. All of his films are not Indian. Well, remember at least ' Donor Vicki with the same Ayushman, or 'October' with Varun Dhavan - he even made such a massive comrade as Varun play to the fullest. Respect these directors, pull out of the actors everything you can. In 'Gulabo and Sitabo' he brought together two such celebrities as Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushman Khuranna. Amitabh, of course, was out of competition here. He just needed to be seen, his fishy empty eyes and bent back. Ayushman played a dodik-loser, but with his own reason. Two completely different characters who ended up out of business both.
From the film, I realized that Gulabo and Sitabo are some folk characters popular in Lucknow, who constantly quarrel with each other, and therefore often turn out to be the heroes of street performances - they are just funny, with their help they entertain children and street onlookers. With them in parallel unfolds the main plot of the film, in the center of which ' stands ' an ancient mansion on one of the streets of Lucknow. The owner of the mansion is almost 95 years old, but she has 'young' husband, 80 years old, Mirza (Amitabh ji). And the purpose of his life is to get this mansion for himself, because his wife never rewrote him this house, which comes complete with tenants who have lived here since time immemorial. Tenants generally believe that this house - ' their right ' even if they do not pay for it. Just because I was born and raised here. Ahaha, and it's okay that Mirza stands with an outstretched hand every single day - pay me, lovers. And the lovebirds say, "Neuti, eat it!" and we won't leave. One of the tenants is Banki (Ayushman), a loser in life, a young man who needs to feed his family, in my opinion, he never learned, works at a mill, and dreams of somehow improving his life. But also, like Mirza, the mind is not shining – they are not shining there, except for civil servants and architects, who are also asleep and see how they seize this mansion. All these intrigues, conspiracies, quarrels resemble a ball of vipers - who will bite who hurts the most? And the grandmother, the owner of the mansion, lies, like sick, but in the end gives out such a trick that my mother is dear.
Amitabh here, of course, once again struck. First of all, he's just not recognizable. I read that complicated make-up was applied for several hours, he endured everything, dutifully reshot takes, and after filming he walked around the streets of Lucknow, and no one recognized him. If you don’t know who the actor is, you’ll never know. Secondly, I am for Amitabha glad that not ' is written ' such a mastodon of Bollywood for retirement, no matter how hard his malignants try. Of course, it is difficult for him to play at his age, they say that after "Gang of Hindustan" & #39; shoulder healed many months after heavy armor, but he healed - and again in the ranks. This can not but cause respect, agree, when a person up to such years literally lives his profession. Ayushman was also good, but in the background, without offense, Amitabh his ' outweighed ' in all respects. I liked my grandmother, like, died-dead, but no, made a feint with her ears and left her husband with a miser. The funniest scene is how she taped her fingers so that the husband could not put her fingerprint on the documents.
So fans of non-standard films about India, fans of Amitabha and Ayu recommend to watch unequivocally.
But not an entertaining movie, not once. Therefore:
